Oil on the way up again. Pump prices to go up.

yes i know, it's bad. ive already been warned that diesel is going up 2p/litre at our place tonight, making it £1.01p/liter

I paid 91.9 on Tuesday, and tonight, not at the cheapest of garages it was 93.9! I feel for you having to pay that much!

I'm really not fussed about the price of fuel, for me, it's hardly a noticable difference if it went up a few pence per litre.
Infact, roll on £1/litre! :)

Heh, I liked that!
But as much as I liked it, some areas of his argument are about as watertight as a leaky kettle.
"We made it through the great plague without asprin" Well.. Yes.. but millions died!
I admit that a shortage of fossil fuels won't be the end of humanity, but it might be the end of humanity as we know it (though I don't think even that is especially likely).

I could be here all day telling you where it could make that loss up but it's totally off topic for Motors.

Hint: Every day, we pay people billions to sit at home, watch a bit of Sky TV, and go down the bookies..

You are so right.

I think coco is drugged up or something, lol.
Why on earth would you request to pay more for something?
Don't get me wrong at all, I'm not smoking rolled up £20 notes & my car regulary hits <20mpg, but for me, the cost of fuel really doesn't matter if it's up or down 10p/litre

Put it this way, what make of baked beans do you buy? If your not saving pennies on your weekly shopping then why bother on fuel?

There's a much much bigger picture with fuel-costs involving Mr Tax man.

As for £1/litre, makes a nice round-even number! :)

104.9 for diesel here now, gone up a couple of p/l in the last week. Unleaded is still 98.9. Only a few quid a month, but it all adds up :(

Its China & India bumping up the cost as between them they want to use more oil than the rest of us put together. These were considered 3rd world countries until recently but are now set to lead the world in manufacturing, the accolade of which was once held by Britain but now we are at the bottom of the league & helping to support China's rapid growth & our own demise by buying their goods .

Just wait till some of the other 3rd world areas like Africa get on the bandwagon with cheap labour & all the workers want a car, its happening in India right now as bicycle owners yearning for a motorbike can now have a car instead

Where do i sign up!

Fuel prices are on the way up again, no surprise, but until there is a viable alternative we are stuck with it (as much as i love biomass, there just isn't enough land to grow sufficient crops to replace our current fuel needs)

Indeed, i couldn't care less anymore, not like i'm going to miss that little extra money each month, just means i get to buy less 1p sweets :p

but its a case of "where do we stop". does it get to £1.10? £1.30?. Its a shame theres no other option for me really. Work is two miles away. Im disabled, can no way in hell walk that far, and busses dont really go anywhere near walking distance of my place of work, and i cant ride a bike either, so im kinda stuck with it too.

I do wonder what price we will get too before the public says enough is enough.

I went past the local Shell today and it was 88.9 for unleaded. I thought id nip to tesco as it was on the way home, and is normally cheaper anyway and i needed fuel. 89.9, and diesel was 94.9  Nearly fainted!

Its a stinker of an attitude to have but voicing my opinion won't stop mr brown being a plank, i'm just going to sit back and take it and voice my words with my vote (Yet again, not voted for this bunch yet)!

how did you work that one out? the cost of refining oil will always remain the same, unless a different refining process is discovered!
I wasn't talking about the cost of making oil. The cost of making desiel is more than petrol.

But its not the tax thats going up, its the cost that is driving the cost up. Also if the government said lets take 10p of per litre, where the hell is it gonna make that loss up?

cigarettes obviously ;) :D

I always was lead to believe that diesel is less refined than petrol, hence the name 'heavy oil', and cheaper to refine than petrol. It's "what's left over at the bottom of the tanks" basically. That's why when diesel vehicles first came out it was so much cheaper to run them. As has been already stated, the only reason diesel is more expensive is because the government has realised that more and more people are buying diesel vehicles, so they put the tax up. Same will go for LPG, it's cheap at the minute, but the more and more vehicles get converted or come ready fitted for LPG from the factory, the more the tax will go up.

Just thought i would bump this up. Oil is now way past $68+ a barrel. Wonder how high it will go before the end of the month.
