According to BBC:

"A suspect package has been identified in the north-west corner of Old Trafford. The police are on their way to inspect it and the area has been evacuated."

Heh, got Final Score on in the background and saw a sniffer dog going through a crowd. Didn't seem to be any hurray to evacuate the stadium. Fans were still just sitting there whilst the dog was going about.

Iirc Manchester sniffer dogs were only good at finding sausages

Surely this happens quite a bit, the police inspected the package/device and then called the match off. Could be something legitimately dodgy...

Souness and Henry both said they had been patted down on entry to the stadium and it had never happened before. Maybe there was some intel before the game?

Whether legitimately dodgy or something that needed further following up they have no choice to call the match off if they can't immediately resolve it.
