Old Trafford being evacuated

Rumour has it the suspicious object in the stands was a fan actually from Manchester.

Obviously wouldn't be joking if anyone was in any bother, glad they are all ok.
 
Amazing that something like this can happen really with all the huge security precautions. One of the journos on Twitter was saying that Man Utd are actually well ahead of the curve with this stuff too, with other clubs consulting them on improving their own security procedures.

That would make getting in the ground hell. I cant ever remember a bomb going off in the stadium,no need for such extreme measures.

Stan Collymore says it was a bag with a pipe,wires and a phone in it. Says his source is 100% correct.
 
Imagine how severely ****ed off you'd be after travelling all that way from down South only for the game to be abandoned.

Bet the Bournemouth fans were none too pleased either.

I had an exam in Old Trafford in January and got a full bag and personal (excluding cavity!) search :eek:
 
According to the press, this was a mobile phone "wired up to pipes" in one of the toilets. Seems a bit odd. The stupid things people will do!
 
Controlled explosion has been carried out. device appears to have been a pipe bomb.


Was walking my friends dog just by the stadium when everyone came pouring out. Fans all seemed sensible and in good spirits not seen any violence etc.

Pubs are all rammed though now, lost my normal table outside :p

The latest story which I'm not sure is confirmed, is that it wasn't a hoax but a dummy device used in a training exercise which was left behind to cause an actual scare......

Happened not to long ago in the states was it, a fake bomb or something left on a school bus after a training exercise that caused a full blown bomb scare when found.
