On paper, who will win the WC?

On current form of players for Brazil, I don't think they are clear candidates here...
You said on paper.

On paper Brazil are the only choice you can make for this question.

Defensively they are vulnerable, the full backs are pretty much wingers.
They have been for years, and they've still been the best side on paper going into nearly every tournament they've participated in.

little point speculating, but on paper England are as good as anyone IMO, brazil are very good, but they lack stregnth in the middle and leave a lot of space defensively so are vulnerable against managers with nous. (thats england out then!) On paper we have a world class player in every position (except gary neville) with a few to spare, We SHOULD be there or there abouts. Frankly I cant wait for Italy spain and france and the netherlands to underperform again and leave the door open for england argentina brazil and a very random team in the semis (my prediction)

ive got £10 on england to win it,

if england dont win it this year, they will hve missed their best chance to win a competition since euro96.

plus its the big 40years since 1966, its all set up really

i wonder if the brazilians view us as being on that level. personally,

i dont think we have a ronaldinho, an adriano, a ronaldo, a cafu, or a kaka...

so how we can be as good?

Hard to argue if he is World Class at the moment. When he is fit he is arguable the best left back in the World. But he has missed so much football that has to hamper him. However he only just missed turning out for Real tomorrow...;)

Should be fit soon (next couple of weeks) and ready to play well in the WC ready for his move.

I'm not sure why Sven doesn't experiment with Bridge at LB and Cole in the left wing position. He is allowed to play them together, he is accustomed to playing players out of position, why not try this one out... which may work.

I'd prefer Bridge on the wing instead of Cole. I feel he's a better crosser of the ball than Cole.

Yes I can see where your coming from, this is something that can easily be interchanged though so if one way doesn't work... I suppose more pace from the left back area would come in more handy than say from the middle of the left midfield area, where the majority of the crossing will take place if they were to adopt this tactic.
