On The Wagon... then in 'ere!

nice work guys,

I myself still enjoy a beer, in a non reliant way. So I cut it out in the week and enjoy a few at the weekend.

to be honest tho the days i wake up with a bit of a fuzzy head really makes you wonder wtf you are doing.

keep it up all. Im following in my own non dependent way

Not a great week, the temptation to relax with a couple of beers is high. No sponsorship so far for my dryathlon either...

I'm still dry and feeling pretty confident I can stick it out. The missus and I were going to move all the booze in the house to the shed but we decided to face it full on. Every time I open the food cupboard it is all there sitting on the bottom shelf, but I think it is best to be able to see it as hiding it at the bottom of the garden is a bit excessive.

Boom still going strong!!!!!!!

No intention of stopping, I think my new rule is now to only drink when going out, I'm giving up slumping on the sofa and downing bottles of wine till I fall asleep.

The majority of my beer is stored in my garden shed. That's nothing to do with resisting temptation and more the fact that there's so much more storage space there than in my kitchen cupboards. :)

Also still going strong though I'm thinking it'll still be quite some time before I can enjoy a beer. Need to get off the soup and back on proper food first :(

my big test of my dry January is coming up next week, a week long conference in Munich with several 'social' evenings in different beer halls - not looking forward to trying to resist the sweet munich weisse beers.

I've not totally decided if the alcohol free versions are going against the spirit of it or not though...

Ooh that's a toughie! The very best of luck and please report back with any alcohol free taste tests too. :)

Still off the beer, although Saturday 1st Feb is definitely going to feature a few cold ones!

You and I the same.

If you can get through that you can get through anything. Best of luck. :)

Having another dry month or so this year again.

Last year went until end of Feb without drinking, and had another dry month in September, but October to New Year was a bit messy drink-wise.

19 days dry so far this year. As is usual with my dry periods, I'm not missing it at all, and have no desire to drink whatsoever. The thought of alcohol is actually quite repulsive at the moment.

I know I'll want a drink again at some point in the future, but not setting any end point to the dry stint. I know some people doing dry months with the intention of ending it in style with a blowout on 1st Feb, but I'm not interested in setting limits like that. It'll end when I feel I'd like a beer again, which could be some time away, could be never, who knows?

Odd thing last night... I dreamt someone gave me some plum wine and a glass of sake. I drank the plum wine down in one and then remembered I didn't want to drink, and felt awful. Going to take that as a good sign as the state of my subconscious orientation to the drink. :)

Feb 1st is start of the six nations, I can't wait :D

I've cut back a lot even when I am drinking, I don't think I'm drinking a third as much as before...
