On The Wagon... then in 'ere!

While not exactly 'on the wagon', I've stopped drinking alcohol in or around my property. So, not in my house, not in my detached garage (which I could have easily justified) and not with my neighbours (which beleive me, is a good thing!).

I still have the odd pint when I'm out and about but have to say, I'm not really enjoying that much it anymore.

This all started with me having to do the junior Great North Run with my 6yo daughter. I promised her I'd not drink at home between returning from our hols in June till after the run, which is two weeks away. I think I may continue with this reduced alcohol intake regime.

I have to say though, I don't feel any better for it and I'm sleeping like poo!

Been a bad year and getting worse. Yea yea, i accept all my own fault. Sometimes the bottle is the only escape from it all!

One step at a time and don't keep telling your self that it will be mental because it is not. Pop in here for a chat whenever you feel the need and good luck. :)
This....
It's not and you know it :)
...and, this.

When I decided to completely cut alcohol out I combined it with a healthy diet and some exercise. I for one felt the benefit on a big scale.

Thinking of laying off it for a few weeks myself. Most Saturdays the last few months have been a booze induced haze. Costs an awful lot too.

Stop as in completely cut it out, nothing from now on or gradually reduce intake?

Thing is, easy said than done. Takes will power of which i am very much lacking these days! I will try though. Will see what happens this weekend!

I have been drinking in the week about only 2 glasses a few days, not every night. Its from Friday on that i go way over the top.

That's what a lot of people do, come home from work midweek and have one or two (be it glasses of wine or beers) then relax at weekend thinking if they have far too many it's no big deal as they aren't getting up for work.

Either pick a night at weekend and say no drinking. Then the following night set yourself a limit of how many, and stick to it. It does get easier and the longer you go without the more you benefit, in lots of ways.

Good advice. Cheers
