On The Wagon... then in 'ere!

Friday night. Difficult not to reach for some booze. Better do something

Having a quiet night in myself, match on telly to pass the time, and working tomorrow. Planning to go shooting after work, so the long walk involved with that will leave me with no interest whatsoever in going out for a beer or two.

Fresh air and exercise, you'll be more interested in something tasty to eat after all that matey :)

Good man yourself :)

Advice offered, no attempt made to even try.

Come back when you decide to make an effort like everyone else.

Thanks. Easy said than done.

I am not drinking like i did last Friday. Sorry to be a failure. Just so down and life in a mess mate.

So been Alcohol free since Monday. The mother of all hangovers gave me a little boot up the bum so I've decided to do the whole no alcohol in September.

Would usually drink most nights as a tool to unwind, or whilst cooking or to match with food. Feeling fine, stuggled to get to sleep a few nights though. So far theres not been much temptation to grab a bottle of red (yet) but it's early days.

Good to see so many people in here keeping at it, gives me some more motivation!

I pretty much never drink but had a holiday in France with family so did enjoy a bit of good quality wine and champagne, since I had a lot of fantastic food and cheese to enjoy it! Makes you appreciate alcohol more when you don't have it all the time.

It is funny that when I see my doctor or other health specialist and tell him I don't drink they look at me as if I'm lying! In fact a lot of people think it is odd not drinking much.

Couldn't agree more FF.

With the nature of my job and company I work for, some people still struggle to believe me that I've pretty much quit drinking (albeit the very odd time). Having said that, they do tend to believe again come freebie hand out time :D

It took some people a few years to finally believe that I had given up drinking. Apparently the glasses of soft drinks and water were just a front! :D

Been mega busy today, out and about, washed the cars, jetwashed the driveway and the front elevation of the house, removed the tow bar of the old Hilux, washed and scrubbed the chassis of the old Hilux ready for rubbing down and painting, went to the butchers, had a pint with my Dad (mine was a sparkling water), lit the fire and now watching a film.

Wouldn't have done 1/4 of that if a normal Saturday :)

Oh and my legs are still very sore, I stink of tiger balm

You and your posts in this thread intrigue me , you clearly have a story to tell about your past drinking habits care to share?

I've just noticed this thread.

I haven't had a drink in around 11 weeks now, I wanted to see if I could stop drinking over the summer.
I wasn't particularly big drinker before was quite a social drinker with the work lot and mates in and around London.

I miss the social aspect of drinking, but not as much as I thought I would.
At least I know I can control drinking if I ever wanted to.

Haven't noticed an impact on my wallet though :(

Monday morning how is everyone feeling??

I'm only posting because I feel great, not so great after my second round of crossfit, it's going to hurt tomorrow.

BBQ on Saturday, unsure what I'll do
