Good health is one of those things that many people take for granted until they lose it. But, it'll happen to us all, either suddenly or gradually.
I think moderation is key. Whether it's gaming, going to the gym or trainspotting, if you do something for too long you're likely to start obsessing over it. Obsession leads to compulsion and then it's unhealthy.
Video game makers actively encourage people to play for as long as possible. When I turn on my ps5 I get a warning saying to take regular breaks, but then the whole platform is set up to make me play as long as possible by getting achievements for doing a certain level, or travelling a certain distance.
Entertainment streaming platforms actively encourage people to "binge watch". It seems to be fashionable too. I hear people in work talking about the latest drama, saying "yeah I binged that on the weekend".
