One Plus 9

FFS I am so torn. A few niggling mini red flags for me; black not available on the 256/12 Pro model and the screen might be too big for me. Might hold off a little while (said the guy who did the same thing for the OP8 Pro :o).

Make use of the cooling off period.

Oneplus have made a major mistake of not commiting to 3+ years of updates.

The cameras are an improvement over the 8 Pro which was already better than the S21U, bar the zoom, in my experience. The 9 Pro is stacked better and cheaper than the competition in areas I'm concerned with.

No OIS on the standard 9 is a bit of a strange decision. The standard 8, 7 and 6 all had it on the main sensor. Almost seems it's been purposely omitted to swerve people towards buying the Pro.

Same every year. There is always something missing, or something being not quite right.

It will probably come back on the 9T

Pretty much sums up the camera, it's good but could be better.

Oneplus got roasted there. However I had the S21U and it was awful for detail and oversharpening vs the OnePlus 8 pro. It makes me wonder if he's using the Snapdragon variant of the S21U.

And also the OnePlus images looks excellent on the video I posted a few posts up.

@kona786 which version did you end up ordering and from where?

256GB 9 Pro green from Amazon. Just easier to return if I dislike it, I hold no brand loyalty.

He has both the S21U Exynos and Snapdragon so I'm unsure which one he's using there.

Literally got beat in all situations in the video, main issue was the colour/sharpness and blacks blending in.

I'll watch your video now.

I actually prefer the iPhone 12 Pro Max on this post. I think the only time I actually prefer the OnePlus is on night shots and a few of the wide angle shots otherwise in my opinion I think the iPhone wins.

Video wise it's worse than the iPhone too and seems to glitch more and be more blurry, also microphone was very distorted and quiet on the OnePlus compared to the clearer mic on the iPhone.

Oneplus was a clear win on the main and WA for me in terms of detail and clarity. Very impressed with their latest nightmode too.

Once I have a few days with it I'll have a better idea.

See that's the thing everyone has their own opinions, OnePlus 9 Pro is very good just feel the Samsung S21U and the iPhone 12 Pro Max are mostly better.

I was looking forward to the OnePlus 9 Pro but think i'll wait until Sep/October and see what the new iPhone 13 is going to be like. My contract doesn't end until mid July anyways and my Samsung S10+ is still doing me well.

I want the green 9 Pro too but want the free wireless charger! I contacted OP and they said the 12GB/256GB is not available for pre order in the UK at all (from them) so can only get it from Amazon basically...

I'm contemplating getting the 8/128 in black or silver for £829 from Three... along with free wireless charger AND free wireless buds.

But again I want the green argh! And I want the 12/256. Not sure why they have messed up their pre orders so much like this. Loads of people in a similar situation on the OP forum and Reddit. Want the top spec 9 Pro but can't pre order to get the charger or buds.

It's reallllly putting me off, feel like not ordering anything just out of principle. But really want to upgrade my 6T. :o:(

Is it the Warp Charger though? Seems a decent deal but I'm unsure if I need the 256GB model due to my current P20 Pro always being full !!

Does anyone know if the 256gb models will be available again for pre-order/purchase from OnePlus?

What always astounds me about a new Oneplus phone is how well they know me and what colour phone I want. Somehow the nicest looking colour phone is always the 12GB/256GB option. Always! But then do I use anyway near enough of the 128GB storage on my OP5? Not enough to justify an extra £100. The Pine Green looks great but it seems to be quite the fingerprint magnet that the Morning Mist is. This time we have a matt colour in Stellar Black for a Oneplus phone so I guess seeing as most reviews I've seen/read/heard about are saying the Pro is worth the extra over the basic 9 I think I will go for the OP9 Pro in Stellar Black. My OP5 is starting to shows its age and I think it's time to replace it.

Looking at the T&C the free gifts only apply to contract, not sim free, so that's a no go for me. I can only assume it's the 50w charger.

As mentioned OP told me the 256GB is not available at all for pre order in the UK. Seems like that means it will be available once it is released on 31st March, when I assume the free wireless charger offer will conveniently end. I'm not going to bother pre ordering anything now and just wait until the 31st and see if anything changes before then.

The green has a matte film underlying a matte-frosted glass. It's not glossy like the silver. (from reading online)
