One Plus Nord

You can easily pick up a adapter for around £3-5 if you look on the bay or even on amazon.

I'm not a fan of paying more than I ever have for a phone only to require carrying a dongle around to listen to it. Phone has 6 cameras, it can have one headphone jack.

If you absolutely need a headphone jack then you're limiting yourself to which phones you can have as manufacturers seem to be ditching it.

To be fair lack of a headphone jack is a bit of a shame, most midrangers have it and not like they were limited for space to include one in a phone this big. I am the dinosaur that still uses mine daily but after Samsung dropping it, I've accepted that I'll be forced ditch it with my next phone.

Ultimately I'll hold off this as it's just too much of a sideways "upgrade" from my S10e but I really need to think about ditching it with that woeful battery while recyclers are still willing to give me £270 for it.

I too will miss the headphone jack. I do use mine every now and then. But now using buds, don't miss it as much.
Been wanting a new phone for a while. And this ticks most of the boxes for me.

OP lost my support when they took the p*** out of Apple for ditching it then promptly followed suit. It's nothing more than a marketing ploy for wireless buds. You can even see their CEO look slightly uncomfortable when mkbhd brings it up in their chat; https://youtu.be/W-VInHvlrZo?t=712 He also had no good answer for ditching it.

I was excited about the Nord, but then I remembered;
  • It's too big
  • There's no headphone jack
Seriously, I'm so fed up of every damn phone getting bigger and bigger. These things are supposed to be mobile phones. How are they mobile if they don't fit in my damn pocket?  If someone came out with a 5.5" tall phone with midrange specs and decent software (OxygenOS or Android One) it'd sell like hotcakes.

The only glimmer of hope is that they mentioned there will be 'other' Nord variations. Perhaps this is the "premium" Nord model and they'll bring out a smaller, more budget version?

Why not just leave the dongle on connected to the headphones? It's what I've been doing and is no longer a separate piece. I can even use my current dongle on the Nintendo Switch too so I don't have to remove it.

Cause I have multiple pairs of headphones from the last 20 years and multiple things I use them on.

I have a note 9 here which is bigger than 5.5" and never had any problems of putting it in my pockets.

What pockets are these? Jacket pockets?

I'm ditching my S10 for the Nord. The Samsung bloat is doing my head in. Never experienced a OnePlus before so hopefully I'm going to get that fresh clean feel.

I ordered the 128gb version... Just having doubts should i cancel and order 256gb version? Currently on my S8 i have 128gb sd card plus 64gb on board..
Only once i ran out of storage and that was last year when i went Turkey for a week

I have a Mi A2 Lite which is 5.88". The OPN is 6.23". It's just one step too far.

I'm talking about jeans/trousers/shorts pockets. I'd imagine most people's jeans pockets aren't even 7" deep so phone manufacturers need to stop somewhere. It's already uncomfortable (well, noticeable) if I sit down with my phone in my pocket, or try to go up the stairs two at a time. And no, they're not skinny jeans!

7.2" screen? My god that is too big. For me 6.7/8" anything larger then that and you're just better of with a tablet :p

Great, buy a £400 phone with all the bells and whistles, only to get a cheap Chinese dongle to DAC your audio. Like that's going to sound good... :o It's a farce.

I'm actually put off because it's too small!, I have a 7.2" Mate 20x and I really don't want to downsize from that, I've never had a problem pocketing my phone so my advice is to stop wearing skinny jeans :p
Mate, you may as well walk around with a laptop. Thats ridiculous :p
