OnePlus 5T or HTC U11+

I'm sure the U11+ will be an improvement over the screen on my Moto X Style or at least it shouldn't be any worse!!

I wouldn't be surprised if it was just them being unlucky with a bad phone screen or they just don't like HTC.

Still no word on when these will ship from HTC themselves ... they said "in December" but nothing as yet - anyone any idea?

I was so keen until the review of screen and battery so I hope your new ones will prove them wrong.

I just want a decent battery that will last not only between charges but after 6 months too

Thats fast shipping coming from HK.

If the battery turns out bad, are you able to return it?

Usually 5-8 days , Quickest I've had is 3 days and the longest has been 10 days. Hopefully the U11+ will arrive this Friday/Saturday.

I really doubt the battery will be an issue for me, I mean GSMarena expected more from the 3,930 mAh but even then they list 8.26 hours of web browsing, 7 hours of video playback which is more than ample for my needs. Only concern for me is the device as a whole, and if I prefer it over the Pixel 2 XL. If I don't, I'll sell it on. Most importers will allow you to return the phone, usually within 7 days and of course at your own expense. Personally I find it less hassle just to sell it on and accept the fact I may loose money on it .

Have to wonder how much the dissapointing battery life is owed to Oreo - too little to compare with right now due to hardly any other phones having it

Seems like Tech Zilla on Youtube likes the phone - a lot!

He's got the 6gb / 128gb version and compares it with the iPhone X and Galaxy Note 8 etc and seems to find plenty of positives with one being the battery but he's not had it that long as yet.

Liking the positives and it makes me feel better for pre-ordering it although I hope it ships soon!!

Still loving my OP 5T after using it for over a week if that's anything to go buy coming from a S7 edge. Hope your happy with your purchases either way.

Battery life is around 6-7hours screen on time too.

Thinking the status is advisory, we're expecting your parcel and will deliver it soon. Taking predictive services too far if you ask me, amounts to teasing.
Needless to say I'm checking on a regular basis.

We have movement:

Time Location Description

*Looking like Monday, when I'm out all day. Guess I'll have to content myself with Monster Hunter

Got my 5t yesterday whilst expecting it on Monday. So far really, really like it.

Camera seems equal to the 5x and SO SO much more responsive.

It is a slippery phone though due to the metal body.

Nothing I don't like in summary.

Seems the U11+ won't ship in the UK until the 20th and even that's liable to change - HTC just tweeted:

"HTC U11+ Shipping Update: Deliveries are expected to commence in UK from 20th December. This may be subject to change. We will keep you updated. Thanks for your patience."

That sucks ... Basically it looks like no new phone until after Christmas most likely as I fly out on the 22nd!

Can you watch HD content in netflix etc. Just read about it on a link.

Finally arrived today.

It's heavy one, not that it's a negative point as it definitely adds to the expensive feel of the phone but after a week or so using the Pixel 2 XL the difference is quite noticeable and with it being a slippery fish it's going to hit the ground hard.

Always liked hTC's designs and this one's no exception. It's just an evolution of previous models, which might seem a bit of an obvious statement as it's the plus model of the U11 but sittings next to my hTC butterfly you can clearly see a strong resemblance. The transparency on this model is quite a good effect, it can range from being very subtle exposing (only the NFC ring ) to exposing quite a good bit of the innards. It's a nice touch but now I've seen it in the flesh I'd be more than happy with the non-transparent models, i.e the ceramic black version.

GSMarena reported the screen brightness to be a bit of an issue, today's sunny weather gave me the perfect chance to test it out for myself and it's not going to be an issue for me. I wasn't overly impressed by the by the max brightness but it was sufficient for me to use the phone whilst the sun was bouncing off the screen.

At this moment I can't really comment on the battery, camera or the software (seems to have the same level of bloat as the original) but will give some more impressions over the next few days use.

p.s Always tempted by LG's quad dac so it's a relief to find out the plus has the same decent audio U11 which will deter me from the V30 for a bit longer.
