OnePlus One.

I agree about the G+ integration but as a owner of both android and IOS devices I'm astonished that you think android requires more steps to perform tasks.

Perhaps I've just not got it set up right, but I've had a Nexus 7 for my tablet for a while so I'm fairly au fait with Android and the way it slots together. It's just some of it's weakness (in my humble one) have become apparent in using it as a phone. Contacts and call management are another oddity, the whole implementation just feels slow to use - which is a damned shame considering how streamlined things are with GMail contacts etc.

Surely it's a better option than having to install iTunes? Also, surely you just need an account. You don't have to use it, do you? In fact, really it's just a Gmail account you need isn't it?

I've never had any bother with iTunes on either Mac or PC (primarily a Mac user for phone related stuff), but I see why it wears people down!

This is it, I've got a GMail account but why do I need to "upgrade" it to a G+ account with my name slapped all over it for the world to see. I don't want another social media account (or any for that matter, save for forums), I don't want all my conversations, photos and videos archived forever more either. It was bad enough the way G+ gimped YouTube, arguably for the better in some ways with regards to curbing driveby trolling but forcing people to use G+ to upload videos etc. Great way to get subscribers for your new network...!

This is my second affair with Android, first being on a Desire and it's come a long way since those days of FroYo. It's almost there, but for me it's just not the right fit. It's a shame because I so hoped that it would be a breath of fresh air coming from the restrictive iOS environment but it seems that both OSs have their quirks and idiosyncrasies. Just a case of which ones you can live with easier I guess.

Perhaps next time Apple really tick me off Android will be there and I can sack off the Devil I've known for good. :D

You'll have to enlighten me, as I am a G+ user, do you definitely have to 'upgrade to G+' to use an Android phone?

You certainly don't need to have all photo's and video's archived forever. You don't have to use G+ even if you do have to 'upgrade'. Then just don't use Hangouts and you're fine.

Seems simple to me?

I'm not trying to be awkward, they just don't seem very big hurdles to me.

**EDIT** In fact, it strikes me you don't even need to log in to a Gmail account, then just side load the apps you want...

It's fairly average. The signal isn't horrifically bad but not fantastic either. In short, I don't think you'll have any issues.

Alright ok. Hmm. Time to decide whether to buy..
Would be coming up from a Motorola RAZR i XT890 and I had my sights on the Z3 (I know it's a lot more expensive though). Might be a bit of an unfair comparison, but how MUCH better is the Z3 camera to the OPO, both good and low light?

Still no OPO here, Signed For sucks and I hate Royal Mail :(

Reading horror stories of people's phones being stolen out the post on the OnePlus forums doesn't help I guess....

Mine will be going on the MM tomorrow evening I think, spent the day with the 5S today and it's been like putting a pair of comfortable trainers on after wearing a new pair of smart shoes.

Shame, because those shoes looked so damned good but they gave me blisters.

It's not often you comment on packaging, but the OPO is really quite impressive...

One of the most enjoyable unboxing's I've ever done! (Will post the video once encoded and uploaded in an hour or so)

Two questions, if someone wouldn't mind rather than I read through the whole thread. What faults/problems should I be checking for? Is anyone using a stable Lollipop ROM of any kind?

Yeah, I was very impressed with the phone packaging. Felt uber high end, and some really nice touches like the SIM remover and the funky USB cable.

Bit of a bummer the charger was in a brown box, and the Nano-SIM tray slung in - but not complaining on the latter too much as it saved me a trip into town to get a new SIM.

I have installed multirom on mine now so I now have both 44s and Slimkat on my phone, so when I get bored I can just swap roms in a couple of mins. Really impressed with Slimkat.

Still no phone here. Shipped Friday and because they sent via Signed For I have no idea where it is. Will give it till Friday and ring up Royal Mail. Hoping that although I can't track it on their site, they will be able to track it internally.

If it gets lost in the post I'm not sure where I stand as Signed For is only insured up to £39 :(

How did you pay? You've got a contract with the seller and they have to refund/replace if the seller can't provide proof the item arrived with you.

Paid via PayPal. If the above is correct then that's good news - thanks :) OnePlus didn't state which type of delivery service they were using when I ordered and if I'd known it was Signed For then I'd have gone with the other option.

It may still turn up I guess; it's not been that long and it's a busy time of the year for RM. But I'd really rather not have £275 lost in the ether....

Good stuff - this is why all purchases made with PayPal should be paid using the correct means (i.e. not the 'gift' option): https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security
