OnePlus One.

The GPS going haywire is by far the biggest deal for me - I'm doing a lot of city hopping at the mo, and obviously just wanted my phone for satnav, but it's about as useful as a lump of coal for that job at present...

Sounds like no one else is having issues... is it factory reset time already? :(

Might try out a custom ROM - Paranoid Android seems like it might fit the bill; have any of you guys tried it out?

Cheers,

Su

[edit] Battery life fail... (1.5 hours screen on time):

And GPS fail (where I actually am in red):

[edit 2] Just discovered another bug - I usually have the clock in the notification bar hidden. But on CM12.1, no matter what setting I choose, the clock displays anyway... *sigh*

[edit 3] Possible fix for GPS woes here - will report back if it works!

I can't tell if this is since the update but I'm really struggling with mine.

First I noticed that when it was charging it was getting insanely hot, like not far off being unable to touch it. A quick restart and it charged ok but the battery wasn't lasting long at all.

Then yesterday it just seems unable to charge at all, I tried 3 different chargers, through the laptop and the power socket and it just keeps coming up with the 'battery too flat to power on, let it charge for a couple of minutes' and then switches to a battery icon on 0%.

Done a bit of googling and it seems that a few people have had the issue but with no fixes anywhere, just seems that people got lucky or something.

I plugged it in all night last night and it was still on 0% this morning so I put it in the USB about an hour or 2 ago and it's managed to turn on so I'm hurriedly trying to back my images up as I can't see this being anything but dead.

Anyone else having any issues like this? If it's the cyanogen update, how easy is it to update that and will I be able to do it on a couple of percent of my battery?

Nope sorry, nothing like that with mine. In fact I've had zero issues with it at all and its 13 months and two days old now!

I've had both of these issues. The first one (heat) I noticed because the phone was sometimes being held 100% awake whenever I plugged it in. Check out your battery graph to see if the same thing is happening?

The second I noticed was that the phone either would not charge, or would charge very slowly on my Ventev 2A charger. However, when I switched back to the OnePlus charger it would work fine.

Honestly, I think they must have cut a buttload of corners on the hardware of this phone - there are so many quirks and oddities... that's 'Designed in China' for you, I guess.

Re. the problems from my previous post... I've switched to the latest PA 5.1 release, and the phone is much more usable, though GPS still seemed a little wonky yesterday.

I really like the idea of the OPO, but can't wait to move off it on to better hardware... probably Sony next, if they're still around!

I eventually got it to charge when it was plugged into my laptop, I plugged it in at 11am then left it at home all day and by 7pm it was on 60%. Took it out for about 2.5 hours and it was on 30%.

Since then I've had it plugged in almost non-stop but nothing seems to do anything for it, it's currently on about 3%, even plugged in and still saying not charging.

It's an absolute joke this, I had a look at One Plus' site for customer support and all I could find (albeit in a very quick look) was about 10 FAQs with one line answers and a 'direct link' which when you click it just goes to the same page.

Anyone had any luck sending theirs back?

Has anyone moved over to a oneplus 2? just wondering if they are finding it to be a worthy upgrade or not.

I've had my OPO for a year now and see no reason to replace it. I've just bought an X for a family member, but oneplus also sent me an invite for the 2.

I'm tempted, but it would be cool to get some user opinions.

Cheers :)

thank you, all disabled.

I hate such things, same with volume buttons being used to fast forward rewind.
always seem to activate anything that I can.
