Online banking

HSBC's is great, everything is exactly were you would expect it with access to anything you can think of in terms of what to do with your account. It really does put all the other banking websites i've seen to shame.
Smile's is somewhat clumsy, not particular well laid out and not very powerful in terms of what you can do via it.
Virgin CC is decent, if feels a little outdated
Egg CC is a bit strange but all the features are there.

Never had a problem with RBS but i tried to make a bank transfer a few days ago and it said i needed a card reader . Had to use paypal instead.

Alliance & Leicester and Natwest. I think A&L is far better in terms of user-friendliness, but it lacks the card reader tech so doesn't give a better peace of mind when security is considered.

I've never had a problem with HSBC or HBOS both are reasonably intuitive and quick to use Lloyds from the little i've seen is a poor system and the Post Office credit card system is a waste of a web address.

I use Barcleys account online, I find it OK, does what I need it for like transferring money between accounts and checking transactions done and current balance.

Another vote for Barclays here. I've had problems with Lloyds in the past with the balance not being up to date so steer clear of them now.

It still isn't perfect though. Why when you have an online banking system can it not show you an accurate balance...?

Well, my Barclays never has an accurate balance. Depending on what it considers cleared, and what the cash machine considers cleared etc.

All the ones I've ever used have been fine in terms of usability etc, but these new card readers they are starting to bring in are annoying, sometimes I need to sort something at work and its not possible without the reader.

I too use Nationwides online banking and think its awesome. Love that I can pretty much go back nearly a year and get statements from my accounts. Its also very easy to use and setup transfers etc. Only real problem was when they were introducing the card reader as it didn't work for a while on the website but thats all sorted now.

I also tried Barclays online banking and it was horrible in comparison, this was a while ago so it may have improved. I can't remember the exact thing that was rubbish about it but I think it was that it couldn't display previous statments beyond around 1 month previously.

I use Lloyds TSB for my internet banking, and I like the system. Easy to use and works how I want it to & easy for me to log on to.

and no, I don't think any bank's allow you to do a change of address online as it requires your signature & the bank's authorisation from their offices or a branch. That's how it works for Lloyds anyway.
