that is for 1kg, but £10.50 for 250g blend is pretty steep - remember though its only going to get worse, takes a lot of energy to roast and (good) green beans are going up

I thought coffee prices have come down a bit past two months compared to what they were earlier. Still a lot more expensive than over a year ago.

Rave's 50% off a subscription (Code SUBSCRIBEME) works out decent. Cancel on arrival and it's not a bad one off.

I use https://readscoffee.co.uk/ a small family run roastery just over the border in Dorset. Decent selection at not bad prices whether it be tea or coffee.

I usually get the yellow bourbon beans from the rain forest but definitely keen to check some of these out. I've been paying around £21kg for beans so if I can get similar I'd be very happy

Dug my drip filter machine out and going to grab some of the coffees recommended here.

However, the only options I have to buy are bean, coarse or fine. Google says medium coarse, but that isn't an option - which option do i need for a drip filter?

Roasters like Rave have more options - see here for example https://ravecoffee.co.uk/products/mocha-java-blend

There's the option for filter. Do you have a grinder? That can add more flexibility.

I've just done this yesterday. I've been using Rave for the last 6ish months anyway as their Guatemalan beans are lovely. I paid £13 for 3 x 250g bags, my only disappointment being they state if you order more than 1 bag you will get all the same bags. Was hoping for some different ones.

Had been looking at pricing and roast date of union beans in Sainsburies -
whilst they, honestly, declare roast date on package, I'm not sure how they sell ones that are a month out, although seen several 'offers' where maybe they are shifting ones with the oldest dates.
is that how it works ?

May have to do this. I used to visit Wogans in person and it was great as I built a good reputation with the staff and they'd often give me special tasters that others had to pay for. I've changed jobs which now means I can't visit the roasters but that means I'm now willing to try other roasters as I don't feel bound by loyalty now

This one is interesting. Gave me the best Espresso I had at the London coffee festival, been to their cafe a couple of times before and post lockdown years and its massively improved. But the idea behind them is amazing.

I bought some from them but wasn't impressed. I had the 5 x 250g Tote selection and I found nothing special with any of the different beans. One of their bean types was a nightmare through the grinder - it sounded like I'd put gravel through it! The tote bag is nice though, we still use that.

It's a shame as I'd like to shop local but I've not felt a reason to return to Tynemouth Coffee.
