'Operation Trojan Horse' - jihadi plot to take over UK schools

So what exactly has a podcast spawned from the Lefty Liberal "This American Life " got to do with alleged radical Muslim infiltration of school curriculums in Birmingham, England?

You haven't really made clear just what the relevance is, and not many are going to want to listen to a lengthy series of American podcasts to discover this...
Did you read my post past the word podcast?

They are investigating who wrote the letter that started this off. It leads them to look into what happened in the critical meeting with Michael Gove, hence the humanist society pops up. If you are saying that all these details on the origin of the letter have been addressed in the previous 8 pages of this thread, then I admit that it bring nothing new to the table. Otherwise it has information that most would not have heard of. Like a report they spent a year trying to get from Birmingham city Council, who literally refused the FOI request.

If you don't want to listen the don't, not my problem if you want to be ignorant on the topic.

P.S. In this instance the fact that they are lefty liberal isn't relevant. I am aware of how biases play a role in podcasts. The facts of the case and the way people interviewed act, paints most of the story.

I thought it was clear what had happened. Even one of the headteachers that handed in her notice even said she felt was hounded out of her position by the parents.

So I've been listening to the Serial Podcast again after Adnan was released from prison earlier last month and this year they released episodes relating to the Trojan Horse Scandal. I don't remember much about the scanal at the time but there were details in the podcast that I though many would be interested about.

The letter in question that started this off, is cited by a number of government officials to be bogus. In the podcast they present evidence to show that this letter could have been fabricated by a head teacher, who was under scrutiny for forging resignation letters of four staff members. This head teacher was one of the school named as being under the process of being transformed and is talked about in great detail in the letter.

I'm on part 5 of 8 and the key thing at this point is if everyone knew this letter was most likely bogus, what caused the reaction by the government? There appears to have been a second letter (mostly unknown to the public) sent by the humanist society that was most likely the actual trigger for all of this. Well I've just started on this point in the podcast, it will be intesresting to see how it goes.

I would say I'm a lefty but that podcast was very one-sided in it's potrayal of events. Yes they likely weren't behind the letter but their running of the school was far from perfect, the Guardian did a good article on it.

As Jihad has already been declared on the West with a stated desire to overthrow other religions, by radical Islam, I have their statement of intent from the horse's mouth, so to speak. I have seen it in action only days ago on Leiceister.

I don't want some foreign country based pod caster of renowned Liberal bias giving a bystander's opinion, so I will give listening to this series of podcasts a miss, thank you.

So I came across this opinion piece as I was searching for more information regarding this podcast. From what I found online, the opinion piece gets a number of basic facts wrong concerning the podcast, and appears to also cherry pick facts. The author themselves isn't neutral as one may think. Ironic, since the author of the opinion piece questions the integrity of the podcast authors.

More information regarding then issues of the opinion piece can be seen here

The podcast itself was to investigate the letter, from what I have heard so far, they do bring up some of the issues with the running of the school but do not go into detail about it. Arguably it is outside of the scope of the podcast.

Fair enough, though I would recommend you be careful because not every shadow you see in the dark is the boogey man.

P.S. The guy that initially wanted to do the investigation for this episode is from the UK.

Surely being careful is assuming every shadow IS a boogey man? ;)

It seems a bizarrely niche and England centric topic for an American media company to embrace, are they perhaps generally dismissive of jihad promises backed up by lethal and barbaric actions, and see revulsion for them and their perpetrators as Islamophpbia?

You got me there :D

They focus mainly on the trojan horse letter. So it I cannot comment on if they on a personal level dismiss the Jihad promise as a whole.
