I ordered a Samsung Omnia 7 from an England based website two weeks ago and today l had a ring from Aramex that it arrived and went to pick it up. The phone's package was wrapped with a non trasparent plastic that had a small hole in it. The guy at the Aramex office and l both saw it but the hole was too small for anybody to have removed anything from the package l thought.

I went home, removed the plastic only to find out that the package was open and the phone and charger were missing. This was my first time using Aramex and it is obvious that some Aramex employee either in England on in Cyprus stole the phone.

I phoned Aramex and they told me to write an e-mail to the website l ordered it from but it is clear that the company shipping the product didn't do anything wrong except working with a shipping company that steals from their customers.

Being ****ed of is an understatement. I also wrote a colourful e-mail to Aramex but waiting for a reply. In their website it writes that they offer $100 as a compensetion but if l am offered that l will tell them to stick their compensation where the sun doesn't shine.

Anyone that had this happen to them before? Any tips if Aramex tries to tell me that this is not their fault since is obvious that my item missing is their employees doing.

Didn't it feel too light? Also your contract is with the store you purchased it from. I wouldn't even bother going to the courier, get them to replace the phone and then they can make the claim against the courier.

Wouldn't he need phone insurance?

Wouldn't have thought so, it would just come under the rights of being the buyer. The company will have a receipt of postage which will include the weight so they would know how much they would have to pay for postage. It wouldn't take long for them to look up this information and see if it matches the weight with the OP's package. From there it will be more obvious at which point the phone and charger went missing.

When l got the package it did felt a bit light but since mobile devices are so light nowadays l thought that it was ok. I really hope they find out what happent. I would prefer finding the wasted flesh of a person who stole it rather than getting a new phone though.

How do you actually know it was the couriers?

It could have been the company's fault.
If you bought DVD X from Amazon but they accidently sent you DVD Y it's their fault not the couriers for "changing the dvd over" cause clearly amazon works with a shipping company that swaps good from their customers.

It happens with our couriers too. Acer laptop goes missing via DHL or Citylink. One of their depot staff will slit the box underneath, steal the laptop then reseal underneath. As long as the top stayed sealed, any other staff will turn a blind eye to it until of course it goes back to us and all we see is an empty box and disgruntled customer on our tech support line due to delays etc. Used to happen 2 or 3 times a year in the 7 years that I worked at a PC shop and having Acer as our main laptop supplier.

What website was your phone ordered from? I'm looking to buy a new phone soon and don't want this to happen.

I don't know if l can post the name of the company since l think it's agaist overclockers rules. I still haven't received a reply from them.

I am normally a very patient person but this is starting to get on my nerves. The website l ordered the phone from told me that they will need to investigate the issue first before sending me another phone. They told me that the investigation time may vary from case to case. I think Windows Phone 8 will be out l and l will still be waiting for the phone to arrive.

Stuff here gets nicked through Aramex all the time, its famous for it. I pay a huge premium to use TNT instead.

Sorry about your phone.

Already a month later and the issue is still being "investigated" by the company. Aramex told me 10 days ago that the company is sending me another phone only to find today that the store is still investigating the issue. I have already send them photos of the product's packing twice and they requested images today for a third time.

Sure thing is that l am never ordering from the same company again.
