It's only illegal if you watch BBC and don't have one, I use nothing from the BEEB so will pay them nothing, my monitors run from my pc and my PS3 and360 go on my TV, no ariel so no freeview and no pointless bill for shoddy programmes like Eastenders!!

No it is not.... it is illegal to receive broadcast signals without a license but it is not a requirement to have one just because you own a tv or other receiver. The tv licencing people would love us all to think that "physical TV= License" but thats simply not the case.

It's not just BBC you can't watch, it's any channel at all. Just because the fee goes towards BBCs funding it doesn't mean they're the only channels you aren't allowed to watch.

I would get Sky if it didn't come with BBC.

Some BBC stuff is in HD, some of it is actually quite interesting as well, such as The Tube. I still don't see what you're trying to say, you think you only have to pay a license fee if you watch BBC? But you can watch all channels other than BBC without a license?

I emailed again and got a warning ????????...

So basically it's a case of "I can't be bothered to help and if you ask again I'll steal all of your games."

To be honest, it was very foolish to initiate a charge back via paypal. I would have used this as a real last, last resort.

Even then I dont think i would have done it.

I agree with you with the license fee. However, if you want Sky Sports but don't want to have the BBC, you can buy a subscription to Sky Go which doesn't have a BBC channel in sight

It gets better, I got back in touch today and actually got put into contact with a native English speaker, I know this as he/she used full sentences, with full words and everything and not just copy/paste

On a side note I had an issue with my ME2 purchase and they were more than helpful, they sent me a new code AND gave me a 25% off coupon.

Its always horses for course, it happens with every company..you always hear amazing stories and horror stories it really is luck of the draw a lot of the time and unfortunately there is nothing that can be done.

I am sorry to hear your having trouble though and do hope it gets resolved, id be devastated if I lost my steam/origin account.

The thing that really bothers me about steam is there policy on not giving any details on any VAC bans and allowing no appeals against the ban. I have a VAC ban on my account for all of the original half life games/CS/TF etc... having never played those games and never having let anyone have access to my account..... Go figure...

I think that this should happen to even more people who use origin tbh.

Just so that then the word of mouth would be strong enough to stop people from using it and buying EA games.

Not in a billion trillion to the power of trillion years will I pay a penny for their games. I do enjoy playing them though. And I do, all the time
