**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Had a huge battle yesterday. I had about 30 lev 3 carriers, 20 void rays and a mothership. Whilst my zerg teammate battled it out with zerg enemy I sent my army in.
They were wasted by lev 3 battle cruisers, the mothership fell within a few seconds like it was made from paper. I littered the map with photon cannons, after my army and most my main base was destroyed I left it on and watched a film which the opposition was not happy about because they didnt have many units left and probably took him an hour! (both zerg players just about wiped each other out leaving each other with no drones)

How do you upgrade things like probe attack range and attack range of photon cannons? I upgrade the armour (middle identifier) but on the far right it still says 0

edit - I think the mothership should cost 600minerals and be much harder to destroy. It doesnt seem to do anything anyway

Mothership and Carriers are useless really. Against BCs you just want to get lots of Stalkers with blink, HTs to feedback them and maybe Void Rays if you can get tonnes of them.

a) I dont think there are any range upgrades other than collossus upgrade. Good thing about that is it stops people spamming photon cannons because later units with big ranges can just annihilate them (again, collossus springs to mind here :p)

b) WRT the mothership, start using Vortex ;) It's a fantastic unit and imho well costed. It's not overpowered and overprotected because it's not a game ender. It is, however, a very useful and powerful tech 3 unit which can cause major problems for enemies (edit: emphasis on the "can" :p)

Doesn't happen to me in 2v2s. I can't play more than 3-4 1v1s in a row before it exhausts me, but Indie and I played about 8 2v2s and it was very fun. We got to top 10 gold league. :D

Very disappointed I couldn't get a DT rush in any of the games though. People are far too cannon happy in 2v2. :(

Ah, my post got binned, so my apologies for talking about that which isn't allowed. :(

Anyway, yeah, agreed that this is a mentally 'demanding' game. Barely getting by, most games! :p
 
just got reset again , had to play the placement matches again . won 3 out of 5 and got placed in bronze , a first for me lol as i am normally in copper and expect to get wiped out fast lol

Also last night, it looked like my account got wiped, however trie dlogging in again 20 mins later and it was back to normal.. straaange!
 
nevermind, i did a cheeky sneak onto home PC.. signed up! impressed by the amount of people signing up for this :) quite exciting! i guess i should start playing more 1v1 then ^^
