**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Ugh went to play with that friend I was playing with the other night from my clan.

Played 3 maps TvZ, won the first 2 and then on the third my macro failed after taking out her natural leaving her with 2v2 bases. She tells me to stop "All-in'ing" her cos that's for noobs. I told her it wouldn't be all-in if my macro wasn't at the level of third game of the day. She starts bitching and I block her lol XD

OCuk channel of course, if you aren't in it when playing SC2, you have to ask yourself one question: Why aren't you in the OCuk channel? ^^

:L like what you did there :L

Anyone quick question<
FFE'd but the zerg took a third straight away and just crushed my gateway giraffe force , mainly with roach ling with a few infesters.

So my question is this , what is the best plan of action if the zerg grabs a third as soon as they scout my FFE ? , get gateway unit a few immortals and move out ? or take another base myself ?

Also lost a game due to a friend skype calling me and my SC2 window decided it would close and re open about 5 times just as he charged up my ramp.
Was not a fun experience I must say

That's the correct response to FFE as a Zerg.

As a Toss if you see him take a quick third you can either take a quick third yourself (depending on how easy it's to defend on that map) or play a more aggressive style.

Stargate after FFE is a good build.

I did this in another game and its good even just to keep a zerg on their toes at this low level ( silver pro here guys :L) and you can for a lot of spores out of a nervous zerg
Thanks

Remember to only build 1 void then go phoenix unless you go double stargate. Then just void your ass off.

@RiseAgainst just thought I'd warn you: I was using the same sig thing as you and also had a line of text below it, but a mod erased it for being too big. If you delete the "get your own..." line then it's fine :)

Awesome, yeah I saw that was what you were thinking, but he was also watching and ran up your ramp so you got caught with your pants down (american term hell yeah). :D

I'll hold you to your word and have a big show down on Wednesday if you are about. :)

Sounds good :D.

I've decided to start trying to improve my Zerg and Protoss up to the same standard as my Terran so I'm dedicating my NA account to off-racing. So far it's going rather badly. My first game was a ZvZ. I macro up at (what I though was) a reasonable pace. After about 10 minutes or so about 30 enemy roaches turn up my base with 1/1 upgrades. At the time, I had 7 roaches at 0/0 and 6 slow lings.

:( I play zerg like a bronze leaguer. I was facing a rank 3 dia zerg as my MMR hadn't changed from when I was just playing terran, so I guess I'm bound to get my ass handed to me until I get demoted to platinum or maybe gold, assuming I improve quickly in the meantime.

I decided to cheer myself up by playing a game as terran. The matchup was TvP and I won by a pretty large margin. After the big engagement at the end my enemy said " haha. what a joke" then ragequit. I guess he didn't appreciate his army being torn to shreds by my M&M force. I pointed out to him in chat that I was a base ahead and had 50% greater army value, as well as superior upgrades, and I also sniped his main and natural nexuses. Despite this he was still adamant he should have won the big engagement . It's funny how incapable of objective analysis some people are.

I think im slowly improving and managed to get to 19th in Silver as Protoss.

Starting to get back into SC2 after quite a while and enjoying it again. Havent played with Zerg or Terran for ages now but am sticking with protoss as ive always enjoyed playing with them more than the other two

it seems now is a good time to be playing protoss :) I'm glad there are people who enjoy playing protoss and terran. I find them way too linear.

anyone find the skirmish specifically Zergs hard?

i don't really bother with the campaign and learn the roots.

8 v 8 player map (hunter)
Difficulty - Very Hard.
Team v Team game.
4 terran vs 4 zergs

i think my problem is i don't send out scouts or marines.

at the beginning i try and build as manys workers as possible
2x for gas, 1x for building barracks, and 5+ for mining/gas.

upgrade the barracks to replication x2 units then build engineer for weapon upgrade. by the time iv'e done this the enemy AI is already attacking another team AI base, and outnumbered.

Gonna get back into this soon. Bit worrying though as a Terran i always had trouble vs Zerg and found Toss was my best matchup...i could be in trouble!

If it's been so long since you last played that you'd be bad as any race then I'd recommend playing Protoss or Zerg, in the current metagame Terran is definitely seems harder to play :)

You went 10 mins in a ZvZ without scouting?! You're asking to be beaten :p
