**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I must say that as a Gold level player, Terran sucking at low level play puts me off the game a fair bit. I play Terran 10-20 times more than the other races, yet I do far better as them :(

I agree. Even though I don't play on my Toss account very often and I have no idea on build orders I still play at a high masters level.

Totalbiscuit and Apollo are a horrible casting duo. They seem to think they're the stars rather than the players.

TBH I find all current mainstream casters to be quite terrible. Apollo isn't too bad but his attitude annoys me to no end.
Day9 is annoying and way overhyped. Not to mention his dailies don't help anyone past silver.

Are you kidding me? They've done nothing but hype and praise players. :s

Ugh Hype. The worst thing ever.

If flash wins against Life he has such a good chance of making it to the finals. Leenock or Flash will win I think.

It's pretty much a given that SC2 casters stamp their personality all over casts these days. I don't agree with it - I just want somebody to commentate on what is happening in a particular game - but the fact they all have other commitments within the community essentially makes them a "brand". You can go on reddit after a tournament like this and there will be threads praising individual casters, boosting their popularity. They know they're part of the show.

I think TotalBiscuit and Apollo both have incredibly annoying personalities. I know they are popular, so obviously a lot of people don't find them annoying, and Apollo in particular is okay when all he is doing is analysing minute details. But when a game gets really exciting and lots of action is taking place - the point at which you'd want their full abilities as casters to be displayed - what you get from them (not just them, admittedly) is their best impressions of screaming schoolgirls. There's a difference between enthusiasm and histrionics. That moment in the last game with Flash where he held the Planetary, I wouldn't have been surprised to see TotalBiscuit take his shirt off and run around on stage, the way he responded to it

Mr Bitter remains my favourite caster at the moment because of his restrained, relaxed style. Him with Axslav right now is probably the best duo at the whole of MLG

@Kamwah: I could've sworn 6 months ago you were bigging up Day9 and deriding Apollo

I do suggest Day9 for beginners because his dailies are very specific and quite easy to take in as the depth isn't much over common sense IMO. I did used to enjoy watching dailies just for the fun of it but lately his personality has just started to grate on me along with other casters.

Apollo does occasionally cast without injecting loads of hype and his annoying personality but most of the time Id rather someone punch him in the jugular.

FLASH BEAT LIFE WOOOOO!

bombers 90 hellion 10 Thor build not good enough!

I think he tried to play the style MVP showed off during IEM, Hellion/Thor/Banshee is pretty good all game long and doesn't need a raven transition if played properly.

Not enough Thors tbh.

Please let it be Flash vs Leenock final.

Edit: Flash couldn't follow through. Shame.

Pity Flash couldn't go through to grand final, no surprise Bomber lost though. Would be nice if foreigners stopped sucking arse at the game, says a lot when Naniwa is top foreigner. (Compared to stable ones like incontrol who couldn't ****ing spell protoss let alone play it.)

I was surprised bomber and heart lasted till they did. Also that Polt wasn't in the final bracket.

Oh we'll Leenock wins.

Yeah surprised he beat Rain, Bomber hasn't been doing much for a long time.

Don't really like Leenock or many Korean zergs, infact Nestea probably only likable one.

Oh gosh that game looks incredibly boring! 20 minutes of turtling then just moving in to win.... and a few infestors or a few HT could have taken your whole army out :)

After god knows how long, Just been promoted to Platinum! Quite happy with myself if I am honest :D

Ah nice one! I've just been demoted to platinum, having finished rank 6 in diamond last season  Oh well, I'm certain I can easily get back into platinum if I stop messing around and off racing :-)
