**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I thought it was interesting to see how much worse Thorzain has got since he moved to EG. Totally outplayed, looked like he was a diamond league scrubber.

I don't think it helped Thorzain downgrading to EG. TBH he's now surrounded by quite bad players that can't help him prepare as much as Mouz. Even if Mouz only had Morrow, Mana and a few others.

Thorzain was never that good. He's a perfect example of a foreigner winning something and TL just hyping the **** out of him when in reality he's not that great and just played better than normal/others played bad in that one tournament.

They must pay their players a good lot of cash for joining eg. It's like a tennis player saying hmmm I'm going to pick a coach who's coached a bunch of failures, it doesn't make sense.

Well coaches hardly do much, in Korean households they mostly support the players and make sure they do what they need to be doing.
Some of the Pro-ESF players went to Kespa teams as coaches because they actually needed help learning the game.

But yea, EG has the most money in the foreign SC2 scene which is probably why a lot of players go there. Even the ones who don't get a wage still get their expenses paid to go to tournaments which is what a lot of Koreans want. Not to mention that huge frat house.

I remember when Crank was looking for a foreign team and he kept getting a lot of very low offers, I bet EG doesn't even start that low for players they deem worthy of a salary.

We all know why EGTL happened when Liquid's players are really the ones who're going to be winning games, it's because EG is paying for it all.

Stephano, Jaedong and Incontrol won't win?

Incontrol might win, but with him just playing their Ace matches it's unlikely we're gonna see him :(.

Jaedong better not win, he's on my fantasy anti-team :D.

Are you trolling me with Incontrol? The guys basically EG's caster with Azael.

Jaedong slipped my mind, he'll always be Team8 to me. I still think that Liquid's Koreans are better than Jaedong at the moment due to experience and we really haven't seen much of him yet.

I used to think Stephano was one of the top 5 foreigners ever but lately his results have been somewhat iffy and he's stated that he's not practicing which I don't think bodes well for his future. Maybe I'm wrong and he'll start giving it his all again but I don't know, he's always been a weird guy XD

I agree, Jaedong hasn't really shown anything yet that makes me think he's going to be a top player in SC2 (for a while anyway, if ever) :(.

Yeah, lately he hasn't been as good (inb4 nearly all killing Korean all-star team :p), I know he has always claimed that he didn't practice much, but living with EG probably means he practices even less :p. That and going to tournaments all over (see MC a while ago) could be making him tired/even less time to practice etc.

Edit RE Jaedong: That's not to say he couldn't win games for EGTL, since the Kespa guys, mainly, aren't top players, just that he's not going to be nearly as good as you'd think given his BW record.

Fantastic player, hindered by bad luck

Wow, just wow.

And I thought that maybe it was just me being harsh on hero. You guys really have no clue XD

He hasn't placed lower than 20th place in any major tourney since the mid of 2011 lol.

Considering the amount of Koreans entering MLG etc., never placing outside the top 20 is pretty good ;).

I meant he's never been in the top 20 in any major event since the first MLG of 2011. I'm not saying he was never good but since the mid of 2011 he's no longer at any pro level.

He's never been good though :p. I thought you would have realised I was trolling you with the terran comment :D.

It used to be retarded back just after the start of MLG when it was impossible for him (and Nony, maybe some others who I can't remember) to fall out of the groups. I still love him as a caster though.
