**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I'm finding 9 pylon, 12 gateway, 14 gas, 15 gateway, 16 gas, 17 pylon, 18 stargate followed by 2 x chrono'd stalkers then 5 void rays and 2 more stalkers to be working a treat. No one sees the void rays coming in bronze.

i usually go 9 pylon (then scout) 10 gateway x2 then keep the production of zealots coming, usally chrono the first zealot and rush over to their base amazing how many games win in the first 8 min by rushing with this but if its a good player thats locked base off can often just use it to keep pressure on and fast exp or try catch up on eco.

That's my build, except I stop at 3 voids and transition to expo :)

Top 3 at MLG all protoss. Makes me happy.

Glad to hear. Can't remember which tournament it was but it was recent and there were no protoss in the last few.

There's been some sweet games at MLG. Drewbie v Socke (sp?) was excellent. I've seen some interesting stuff from zerg players too.

had a couple awesome games tonight, thought i'd finally share one or two :p was playing as zerg with a couple friends to form a TPZ team.

First one's a 3v3 vs 3 zergs. They take out all of my and my protoss teammate's workers..while terran expands. Result? Hero hold mode :D

This one's a bit of fun really, one of the opponents left at the start, but was still almost a bad loss for us.

EDIT: Fixed duplicate link.

Hi all,

I have recently purchased this game and am enjoying it a lot.

Ive completed the campaign (on normal), and most of the challenges. I am now testing myself against the AI to improve my skills before heading online for multiplayer.

I think I enjoy playing the Zerg race the most, so Im concentrating on them for the time being.

I can beat the medium AI reasonably easily but am struggling against the "hard" AI.

I open with a 14-pool speedling build, and then roaches quickly after and try to establish map control. I plan to go to mutalisks afterwards, however I seldom get that far.

If anyone has any tips or replays I could use to see what Im not doing right, that would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance.

Just completed the campaign, was a lot of fun, some areas were challenging, I'm rubbish at my early builds, either forget to keep building SCV's or supply depots :(

Any way for me to get access to the later units in the earlier missions? I just fancy messing around on a few of them.

I really enjoyed the first one all those years ago so I bought a new desktop to play this about a week ago. Loved the single player campaign, so much better than the last c&c game I played which was 3 on the 360 iirc! Jumped onto battle.net, lost all 5 of my placement games, watched some replays online and then won my first 3 matches in my ladder :) expecting to lose my next few though.

Think my id is simo and my number 938.

AI won't teach you to be good at the game due to the way it plays with the resource bonuses. All it will do is build as many units as it can by a certain time then attack, the harder the difficulty the more units it will send. You can get the absolute basics of the game down but from then all you're learning to do is counter impossibly large attacks early on in the game, so instantly all the finesse of timings, scouting, spotting your opponents build is removed in favour of you playing a funky build to get a bagillion basic units to hold out for the first 5 minutes.
