the 6 pool one was amusing gotta say, but jinro said in his interview he knew something was up because of the reaction of the audience. that's a bit disappointing, booths should really be soundproof if you're going to get tipped off for things like that.

not really mind games i wouldn't say. he just doesn't want to waste his energy on a game in which he is an almost un-winnable situation against a good terran and in close spawns. notice i say almost, but i really find it hard to see a situation in which a slow and solid two base push from terran can be held by a zerg in those spawns when he gets that far behind at the start.
 
it was a 1 rax teching not 2 rax bunker rush, idra thought it was and idra had a chance to win and when money is on a line a good player would take that chance.

Also servs him right for not patrolling a drone on a ramp with such close spawn locations

good point actually, but he had no way of knowing that and it was still a bunker rush in that his ramp had been blocked off and his natural would have been massively delayed beyond the point a zerg needs to be taking it to be on level pegging. even one racks marines would have made sure of that. not saying it wasn't premature, course it was but you can still kind of understand his mindset.

Yeah, if it was ladder for us we could probs fight back and have a good go. But vs someone like Jinro hes not going to make any game breaking mistakes.

ok so here is one replay. it's a z vs t against a clanmate. we both play random but in this game he spawns t and me z. obviously there are areas i know i have messed up a little and i can see this for myself from the rep but it is always good to get different opinions.

any thoughts?

Remember recent game tvz with jinro on jugle basin where jinro made a wall with a hole? lings flood in and kill a lot of scv's which cost him the game.

That zerg took the chance after having his queen and drones killed and he won, idra didn't.

Never give up never surrender ;)

I saw that, I bet he'll check his wall offs from now on...

Did you see Jinro vs Ensnare from the same group? It was a massive long TvT battle and they were both on 6 bases each at the end...

one word, EPIC. seen some great t vs t's this gsl. makes me wonder why people hate it so much, personally i find it incredible dynamic and always hanging by a shoestring. likewise with z vs z. wish i could say the same about p vs p. i even got bm'd by a masters league protoss who four gated me in a custom game and i didn't gg. he even had the cheek to claim it's a completely legit, solid and not at all lame or cheesy build with tonnes of skill involved. :o

Too many currupters at once, too many brood lords.

Muta bane ling/roach later beat anything, late game you can add 3-4 brood lords to harass away on PF or terran's army while out of reach of marines forcing terran to get vikings, if terran overcompensates you tech switch to ultra.

You on the other hand you spent all the resources on broodlords.Also bloodlords are best when are unreachable for marines, you sort of "wasted" them to go against marines and thors with hardly any ground support.

Its better to to keep banes and lings as main army while getting muta numbers up, if you had mutas instead of broodlords 4th expo would never go up and other harass on other parts with big flock of mutas would have worn terran down.

Also you had too few drones pump them to around 60-70 then you had too many, 70 is good otherwise its starts eating away supply too much.

The strength of zerg army is in banes, bane and ling to melt everything away, mutas to clean up.

I think practice will do your game a lot of good. You're massing a decent number of drones (a skill i still need to learn in all races! :D I frequently go over 100), but I think you could do it faster. Larva could be spent earlier after spawn cycles. Faster drones => more drones even faster.

In terms of attacking, it's worth thinking about your positioning a bit more. On one occasion it seemed that your lings/banes went in first, then when they were dead, along came the brood lords. Broods should compliment the army and be 'effectively' the Zerg siege tank. Able to harass and throw down lots of damage from a safe distance, protected by the huge ground army. Isolated brood lords can be very vulnerable.

Also dont overcommit to brood lords. They dont have the mobility of other units like mutalisks which can not only help defend the expansions on both sides of the map, but also harass the opponent.

I'm sure a decent terran/zergie will have better advice on general unit comp :D (EDIT: indeed, see nerusy above :p)

appreciate it guys. all of those are really good observations, and i have to say stuff which i think a few months back i would have incorporated in to my play as second nature, but there are some big things there and think they been creeping into my play slowly but surely. my love affair with broodlords is undoubtedly a dangerous one, and needs curtailing. i was losing them carelessly and acting like they were proper tanks mmo style. that is bad. great units though they are late game, 4 is more than enough. i was sluggish at best with my production cycles and i do think part of this was in respect to the guy i was playing who has quite a strange style of play, but sitting at 2400 masters as random, he knows how to win and has a penchant for extremely spontaneous and powerful timed attacks (and makes the age old 'drones or units?' conundrum an even more important one if that is possible), but they still could have been much better. as i felt in game i was undoubtedly on top for large periods, and even though my natural reaction in that circumstance is to make a massive round of drones i really do think i could have gone killed him or at the very least put more pressure and denied the pf at the gold! on top of the other things you both mentioned, i definitely think i have some stuff to work on here.

i will try and post some good p and t replays as well. thanks again :p
 
I didn't realise there was a big sc2 following on these boards. Good to see!

I'm pretty poor but slowly getting better :)

I played a funny game yesterday, it was a 2v2 which they should have won really after knocking out my team mate quite quickly, i sent in a few units to attack the terran and somehow managed to kill all his scvs+CC

THe protoss didn't have any gas, or any cannons so i just flew into his base with a couple of voids :confused:
