** OUR SECOND 8 PACK APPROVED OC BUNDLE: OVERCLOCKED, DISCOUNTED, ELITE TIER VERY FAST!! **

If it's working for others then you should be able to overclock on the new bios.

Did you reset the bios then reapply the overclock?

Loading previously saved settings may not work.

The flashing process removed all my saved profiles so I've been starting from scratch having loaded optimised defaults. The combination I have was really easy to overclock on the original BIOS and I had it running at 4.5Ghz, now even stage 1 fails.

Thanks for these but in many ways I'd rather get the overclock working on the newer BIOS.

not sure if you are having the same issue that i was having with the new bios but what was happening with me was my cpu clock ratio was at 34 and not at 33 like it shows on 8packs guide and also my memory multi would also go to 24.00 instead of the 21.33 as shown on the guide so obviously this is why my pc would not boot

to fix it i just manually put my clock ratio to 33 and my mem to 21.33 and it let me boot although my memory isn't running at 3000 mhz with these settings i think it is running at 2400mhz

hope this helps

I'll try this tonight. I did spot the 34/33 business but not the 24/21 bit :o Thanks for the pointer

I was going to let it slide that I received a B grade motherboard as a warranty replacement after 2 have inexplicably died on me because as at least it works. However I've been a month in total without a main system since buying the bundle.

Returned box

Then after sending a web note when I opened the box I've been informed by OCUK that they won't return my missing retail box and RGB IO shield even after a member of staff told me specifically on the phone to return the motherboard with the socket cover and IO shield on the day I RMA'd the motherboard. Oh they did send one back though.

So how do I fit that then!

So 8pack to save my faith in the OCUK staff any chance you an have a word in the right as this is way below the service I've received up till now!

Thanks for the smile Bimble :) They surely will send a new IO Plate after seeing that photo....looks like someone had two different boards on the test bench.

personally I had to return everything with the Board , Box, IO, Cables, Manual etc. , that wasn't with OCUK though....

It's allowed me to clock the CPU back up to 4.375 although as you say the memory isn't at 3000Mhz now, but I can live with that. Many thanks :)

If you are at 4.375 , I assume you are on the 125 Strap ? are you using XMP on the memory ? I found on my Giga X99 board I had to set my 3000 mem manually and not use XMP.

Looks like something is arriving on Monday so hopefully my faith will be restored then.

Slightly different topic. The replacement board had the F20 BIOS on which I just enabled the RAM profile initially to test it. Once verified that it worked and having seen a few posts about later BIOS versions I tried the latest F22g on the Gigabyte site.

Bad move as I couldn't get any OC not even the RAM above 2133MHz with the profile selection so I've gone back to the F20 BIOS. I applied the 4.25GHz OC as detailed by 8pack then played DOOM for a couple of hours and it's been completely stable no cold boot issues either.

glad to be of help i think that reason for this is because we might have installed the latest beta bios and not the bios that gigaman posted.

+1 - I'd like to see that too :)

Was this with gigaman's BIOS or another one? How long did you stress test it for? I had mine at 4.5 in the early days but it reset after 34 hours. That's why I settled on my 4.375Ghz setting

I suspect that a chip that does 4.6 is much better than mine.

Interested to see what settings you used, I might learn something new.

Did you buy your chip recently?
I did read elsewhere that newer chips clock better, maybe you have a better stepping.
