Outriders

@willhub Can't see RTX options, not any UE4 parameters to enable such in the config files.

I don't use 4K anymore, but 3840x1200 and I think it's very good, but haven't actually checked my FPS yet. Will edit this post once I have done so.

On the frontlines area, getting anywhere from 50-90fps.

2700X/16Gb 3600Mhz/RTX 3080

I downloaded tje game last night to have a go.

First thing I thought of is that its similar to Destiny 2.

Picked Pyro and the game seems ok so far.

Great to see a demo for an unreleased game. Kudos to the developer for going old school.

Played through the intro on my Series X. Looks pretty good but plenty of frame rate issues.

Game itself feel really generic. Cut scenes cringe worthy. I definitely won't be buying it at release. It got delayed for a reason but I'm hoping they can improve things.

Played all four classes through every bit of demo content. Pyromancer is extremely disappointing, technomancer is great but feels soft as hell solo, the tank isn't tanky enough and the close range DPS trickster is tanky as hell

Game itself is either gonna be great fun or a massive boring heap of doody. Erring towards the latter as I can see it wearing thin quickly

Was hoping for good things, but it's just another dumbed down POS aimed squarely at those with the 30s attention span. Will most definitely not be buying it on release.

Wasn't too keen. The mix of gear grind + bullet sponge enemies get's old very fast so not my cup of tea. But good on them for at least releasing a demo before people commit to buying.

Outside of the bosses (and to a lesser degree captains, but those still only take a few seconds) there are no bullet sponge enemies. They all have a method for taking them out easy, in the demo content at least. Can't speak for endgame for obvious reasons
The big dudes who melee you are just as susceptible to one shot kill headshots with sniper rifles as anyone else, the flamethrower guys go down fast if you hit them in the fuel tank, the heavy armoured shotgun fellas can easily be dropped with a pyromancer freeze melee attack and a shot in the face or the Trickster's starting power to make them explode

Having played the demo over the weekend a bit more, I just found it a bit 'meh' and the controls often felt unintuitive/clunky at times. So many other games I've got that are similar - The Division, Destiny, Warframe - and IMO do it better, that I just came away a bit indifferent towards it.

Shame as I really enjoyed Bulletstorm, with superb characters, often hilarious - Outriders just a disappointment. Demo uninstalled and not sure I'll buy the game, unless heavily discounted or it changes.
