Over-rated / terrible movies?

Glad I’m not the only one. Shawshank Redemption is a great film but it’s not the number one of all time that it’s repeatedly touted as.

I’ve always found Godfather 2 over rated very much preferring the first one. I’ve never taken to it despite being a big fan of the films.

Tastes change over time too. The Deer Hunter is often lauded as a stone cold classic. When I saw it first time many years ago I found it jaw droppingly great. Massive length, stunning acting, completely different from what I’d seen before. Watched it a couple years ago and jeezo, it was dull…

Was adequate until Conor McGregor turned up with that stupid accent, if they hadn't called it Roadhouse it maybe would've been better received

I'm going to go with Madame Web and Argylle. I really like that kind of movie and left disappointed.

We ended up seeing Argyle because we wanted to go to a particular cinema when we were in Amsterdam.

Terrible film, fantastic cinema with comfy sofas. That made it bearable.

I'd agree with most of the honorable mentions above for horrible films (anything by disney, last bond film etc) As for overated, I'd go with anything that's won the Oscar for best picture since 2010ish.

Every superhero film ever made, yay it’s some cape nonces saving the world again, fascinating stuff.

Star Wars has always been proper meh as well

The reviews are glowing and people seem to love it, but it was the least scary horror movie I've seen in years and I was bored the entire way through.
