Our retail support for customers is not that different now from the B2B. Everything has been improved. We just made a few changes B2B services to fit a business models better.

If any business or education out there are looking at buying PC hardware or have quotes for this already, Speak with me or Phil, there’s a good chance that we can beat your current quote price also if there is build work required our turnaround times are very quick.

This week we have some great deals on Memory / GFX / SSD & selected monitors, having me or Phil as a contact means you will never miss out on deals as they happen.

How many schools for example do you think are looking at putting SSD's into their laptops or PC's?

Thats something that we cannot really estimate. we have various orders from various schools, uni's and colleges that are buying a wide range components and full systems.

Because of the competitive price and the services we can offer we are bringing more and more on board everyday and our customer base is growing rapidly and we are looking to keep improving on this growth as best we can :)

i would never call an 0871 number for a business transaction

in fact i wont call one for a private purchase either

this is one thing that i think ocuk need to get rid of

if it puts me off, im sure it must put other people off too

We don't deal with ocuk at work for this reason. We deal with a competitor in Bolton. They may well have 0871 but they haven't gone to the great lengths ocuk have to hide their 01 number.

When you stop trying to make extra money out of keeping people on hold for 20+ minutes listening to pants music to make an extra £2 or so then we will talk ocuk!

At work we have two numbers, an 01736 number and wait for it.... an 0800 number! Why the landline and 0800?

Landline for people using mobiles
0800 for people using landlines without a call allowance (rare these days)

Also, as stated in a previous business thread, your systems are no good without onsite support, which is what we need. Also the schools around here only ever deal with Dell or RM so unfortunately I can't reccomend this to a few of my friends in the IT support game here.

Agreed any company without a local number and freephone these days just come across as utterly cheap.

Hmm will keep that in mind if there's a need in our school.

I still don't get why companies use 087, and 084 numbers.

Because it generates them extra money whilst you are sat listening to pointless music and fake apologies that they are taking so long to answer your call.... whilst all the time the taxi meter keeps running on your phone bill.

My doctors surgery even use 0844, disgusting if you ask me given its not like you ring them up for pleasure purposes.

The Phone line is something that we are aware of and the point has been raised with our new owners that our customers are not happy about it. This thread is here to let you know of the other points of contact we have and what B2B can offer. I dont want this to turn into a thread about our phone number.

-Mike- Now that we have a dedicated b2b section you will no longer have to wait in the queue, all business calls will be answered within 30 sec and you will be direct with myself or my colleague Adrian
also you could just drop me an email with what ever you are after even if its just for me to call you, you will have a response back within 30 minutes

If you would like to discuss the phone line further please make a new thread in the General decision section of the forum.

With respect mate, you are posting about what you offer - people are telling you what they don't like about it. The phone line is the only thing so far (apart from my personal that your tech support just isn't good enough as RTB).

If a thread is created in the GD section it will quickly get drowned out with the other threads and will be brushed off by the B2B team.

Surely as so many are unhappy about this, it should be your top priority to change it asap. It is losing you 10s of thousands if business aren't ordering from you due to you trying to make a peti amount of £2 per call, your losing money by having that line in place.

What would you prefer many orders of 1000+ or a couple of orders but make £2 extra per order... mind = blown with current strategy.

We are 100% aware of this feedback and we aim to get this changed but you seem to be completely overlooking the other ways of contact that are available.

The other methods, be it nice to have, would only really be used if phone wasn't an option.

I know I would far prefer to speak over the phone, the other methods are irrelevant.

You could drop me an email requesting a call and receive one within 30 minutes. Or an msn and receive one instantly if me or Ade are not already on the phone, if we are then we will call you asap :)

Sorry mate, thats not good enough. Give everyone the 01 number ocuk used to have before greed set in. If I want to call you at work I need to do it straight away. I could be out on one of our ten smaller sites, not necessarily with net access to send you an email or MSN which most businesses would really frown upon employees using full stop.

It shouldn't just be for business customers, personal ones should be included too.
