Overclockers UK - the past, present and future

Although my join date makes me one of the newer members I have been reading these forums since I started tinkering with my PC so I guess it's something like 10 years or so, only in the last 2-3 years have I bothered signing up to any forum other than the clans I have been in.

Kind of sad to see one chapter end but also quite excited to see what the future holds. I hope you do continue on the forum, even if it is just to make us envious of the latest car/Holiday lol.

Enjoy those millions! I don't think I'd want to spend them all in Switzerland though. Get yourself over to Beverly Hills and get an awesome mansion. Oh, and Vegas.

Congrats, read through this thread yesterday but kept dropping reception on my phone so couldn't respond then. I'm looking forward to what the new owners bring to the table.

Onwards and upwards and twirling always twirling!

Also good luck in the future Spie! :)

Firstly a congratulations is in order to Spie, a hell of an achievement, with behind it I suspect a hell of a lot of work.

Hopefully the new owners will take note of why OcUK became successful and keep the forum community the way it is. The reason I continue to shop at OcUK as it does not feel like a faceless company, which is a point where many competitors fall down. That and I think I have actually now had more free stuff from OcUK than I have actually bought :D

Again V well put!

Congratz for everything OCUK has achieved

Bit late to the thread here...

Congratulations Spie, I'm sure you are very proud with what you and others who helped have built up here!

I wish the best of luck to the new owners, I just hope the branding doesn't change, OcUK is one of the best sites I find for products, a nice all round selection for what I need, and I have never had any issues with them from what I recall.

Keep the name, keep the forums, and you'll keep the customers :)

All the best!

Congratulations Spie, nice to see all the hard work paying off for you. Great company and community of forums you have built up over the years.

Also, welcome to the forums Slame!

If I can offer advice to the new managers. Since it is a pan-european company would there be any chance of a reduction in shipping costs to Belgium £16.50 puts most of my orders out of the hands of OCUK in this type of market. Amazon.co.uk offers free shipping over 25 quid to Belgium. Still I have directed Belgian customers who want a complete package and it's still value for money (due to the strong euro) but for one off it's no longer cheaper. Perhaps even taking some of the costs onboard and reducing the price of shipping to £10 for orders over a certain value would help.

Thanks,

John

PS Congrats Spie I post so much on these forums for two reasons

1) sig size is kept in check and

2) there is no swearing.

I hope this remains the "case" (lol no pun in tended)

Hi there,

this is Toni from Caseking. First of all let me thank Spie and his team for the incredible work they have done with OCuk.

Kay and me have also built our company Caseking from scratch and we have a pretty good idea what it means to build a business out of nothing else then pure passion and grow to be a massive company.

Deepest respect from our side for this great work, OCuk!

There is no need to be afraid that things will change. Our goal is to have a stronger focus on the existing target group of customers without changing the mentality which has grown over many years as this is one of the key factors for the success for us and OC aswell. That means of course, that naming, website, forum, and all the things people love will remain absolutly the same without change.

But of course there is room for improvements and we want to use that! With the support of this great community I am pretty sure that we all have a bright future in front of us together.

Stay tuned! We are working hard for you and count on your support!

best: Toni

Just 1 small thing,

It's OcUK not OCuk :p
