Hey Guys,

Had a little fun in my Business studies lesson today at school, and found that this computer I was on had no password on the BIOS.

So I thought i might push the little P4 that is in there to all it's got, I succeed to some extent but then the system became unstable.

I overclocked the CPU from 3.0GHZ, 800MHZ, to 4.1GHZ 981MHZ and the RAM to 773MHZ, from 533MHZ. :D

And got a whopping temperature of 51c, from a lame PC with 1x 80mm fan!

I will post some video's soon, if you are interested in my overclocking adventure at Guthlaxton College.

PS, sorry if this is a random thread

Lol me and my friend oli (Frosted Nipple on here) underclocked one of the rubbish old computers in our sixthform common room, lol, now it runs really slow in comparison to the others and they are all like 6 years old :D

Haha nice one,

I will try and overclock it more next time I'm in the lesson.

I'm now trying to figure out how to bypass a few security settings!

Advice and technique's welcome ;)

congrats at voiding their warranty on their processor, but it probably serves them right for not putting any form of protection from anyone doing it.

c'mon man get thermal warnings turned off so it melts

get asmuch vcore in there as possible

What if it fails to oc and you need to clear the CMOS?

And surely it is fairly obvious to hear your computer beeping all the time due to constant reboot?

Concentrate in your class m8

I once got into trouble for changing the error beep on the Acorns we had back when i was at school. Not much else you could do to them, or the 486 (?) RM Nimbus network machines we had. Ah simpler times....

PK!

All I could do was steal the roller ball out of the mouse. Not much I could do with BBC Micro's. :(

Yeah, but with a few tweaks the graphics on Grannys Garden would look stunning! :D

My mum used to teach at a primary school. I had to go in a couple of times because the kids had somehow accidentally disabled the hard drive on their old Acorns. I blame those sneaky 5 year olds... I wonder if one of them was called matt.... :p

PK!

I killed a stupid P3 400 mhz a while ago.. it was in the basement though so no one used it. it just failed lol i got it to like 130x12 or sth

My comp at AT class runs at 3.5 ghz now lol! Its a P4

I can't believe your school isn't running Dell. They're basically tamper-proof BIOS locked or not :D

I also cannot believe you're doing that as you risk pretty serious punishment if you get caught. And you could be the reason two users in the next class have to share computers - how would you like that?
