Overclocking at School.

I wish, I had no created this Thread.

The main reason I did was just to highlight the fact some School's should take more precautions when it comes to there IT equipment.

Sorry If I have caused any arguments.

No, you did it to show off. If you wanted to highlight the security flaws you wouldnt have overclocked it, you would have just mentioned it to your teachers, and maybe earnt their respect a little.

PK!

I overclocked to see if it was possible, which it was. This then gives me something else to tell the Tech's, that their hardware has the potential of being damaged!

I then mentioned it to the Tech's, and go nothing back but a gormless face. However I then went to tell my ICT teacher about the situation, who then went in and got the Tech's moving.

I believe that.

OK - about this point people start shouting that your underwear is ablaze.

I will post some video's soon, if you are interested in my overclocking adventure at Guthlaxton College.

That kind of blows your story. You could have tried - "I accidentally hit the escape key while booting my PC in Business Studies class and a lion invited me into the BIOS screen, then a witch made me change all the settings so it ran faster" and I would have found it more believeable. :D

Loads and loads of criminals would have gotten away with carrying out seriously clever crimes but they couldn't help but boast about what they had done.

Take it as a learning experience. If only you know you did something, no-one else has to die. Capiche?

A 'Man of Honour' outside GD - Whoa!

Are your sardonism sensors out of alignment then Beansprout?

Or can humour now only be conveyed with a plethora of smileys? :D :D :D :D :D

Tehee, watchout...I get around :D

The further posts made while I was typing my (other) reply have rendered my reply redundant and just a bit late. Bah humbug :p

And I think I'm pretty much correct in saying if I'd used the term that JustinTime used I'd be getting suspended/permabanned for racism about now. There is a very easy way to tell if a potentially racist comment actually is. Tell it to my Dad. If he laughs, it's probably racist I'm afraid. He's just from that generation where 'Love thy Neighbour' was a real comedy and very few people actually realised Alf Garnet was a send-up.

In the same way that if someone posted a swearie or some other offensive comment, I thought I'd give Justin a heads up just in case.

Pretty dumb thing to do, not saying I would have been any different at that age though.

I suggest next time one of your parents leaves their wallet/purse hanging around the house you take and spend any cash and max out the cards, thus highlighting the potential security risks to them.

It's because of people like you going around 'highlighting security risks' that everything has to be locked up or nailed down.

Justin - I think I know your ethnicity from your full name - but are you allowed to be that un-PC? Might be worth editing to be sure.

Heh edited in case i get modded :D Doubt you know my ethnicity though ;)

Well, my guess would be family of African origin (possibly recent immigrants) from somewhere in the Nigeria/Malawi/Botswana area.

Wrong part of the world, St.Vincent in the Caribbean is where i'm from :D Ethnically i'm prolly of Indian blood but thats been washed away a long time ago :)

Amazing. My apologies. I went off the fact that your surname structure is essentially central African in nature and very often people who came in from the Caribbean in the 60's and 70's either already had or adopted anglicized names (hence the recent immigrant). It just shows my own prejudices ;)

No overclocking the pentium D's and p4's in my school, stupid dell bios, unpassworded but no ocing options  .

Did tho often ''password it'' they had to open the case and reset cmos :D , also sometimes i removed hdd from boot priority list.
Just pure boredom i guess...

even though after my ''bios intrusion'', still no passwords on all pc's @ school in bios  .

Hehe, was just picking on the way it was worded. I had a bit of a deadpan-humour-moment earlier today (not quite sure why), but it didn't really work.

First part of my post was totally over my head though :(

It's a Dell - I'm not even sure why they have a BIOS, for all the options there are in there. That's why I specify Dell - so little for the (ab)users to screw up :D
