Overkill's The Walking Dead

Bring it on!

Have any of you watched the televised series of The Walking Dead? Played the Telltale Games' version of The Walking Dead? Fan of the comic?

Yes, I played the game briefly but it wasn't for me. Hoping this one though will be.

Their own faq says it's an fps game set in the walking dead world from the show and what do they do in the show? Survive and kill zombies so that kind of tells you the core of what to expect and it should be amazing revisiting known locations!

Loved the Telltale Games' version, and read a few of the comics and enjoyed them.

First season of the TV show was good, second was meh, third was good in parts, 4th... I gave up after it turned into another teenage angst fest in that episode with Beth and Daryl...

Still reading the comics here regularly! Bearing in mind 'Survival Instinct' attempt at FPS genre in the Walking Dead world, the bar here isn't high to begin with and developers to have a certain degree of pedigree in producing a good product.

Be interesting to see how they develop this along the way, of course I would love an open world zombie survival game with great co op. State of Decay is probably one of the better zombie games out there that's open world but desperately asking for co op. Personally I would love something a bit more realistic and darker than State of Decay, throw in ability to play with friends and you have a winner!

Same here, that episode was so boring and was more like watching a soap. It does pick up toward the end of the season though, so might be worth having another look. I left it for months after that episode as I just lost interest then went back to it a few days ago and quite enjoyed the end of the season and a couple of eps into season 5 it's still looking good.

Hopefully the 3rd Telltale game doesnt turn into a 'teenage angst fest' if they make Clem a teenager in the next game. I play/watch these types of shows to get a break from this soap crap that everyone else in my family watches all the time.

Hopefully this game is good, i'll keep an eye on it. Sure there are loads of zombie games about, but most are rubbish. it would be great to have an openworld zombie survival fps that is actually good. Just hope its single player as well as coop.

Most of s5 is pants as well, although the last couple of eps have been pretty good. I played telltale s1 and s2 back to back and enjoyed them way more then what s4/5 of the TV show has to offer. Since season 3 it has never been as good imo.

Yeah, most of season 4 was rubbish, but right at the end it was quite good. Reminded me of one of the chapters from season 1 of the Walking dead game.

I'm only 2 eps in on season 5 so still time for them to find a static location and grow some veg :p.

How do the comics work in relation to the Telltale game and the TV series and now this new game? They both have different characters, yet are both apparently based on and follow the comics?

I've edited the main post to include the official Twitter account.

What are your thoughts on the development of this game? Are you hyped? We will most definitely see something at E3 related to the game and I'll update this thread accordingly.

Probably delayed to work in microtransactions. They can get stuffed tbh, seeing what they did to Payday 2 has destroyed their reputation.

Thoughts exactly.

I was peaked with interest when they first announced this but after their treatment of Payday 2 with microtransactions & the amount of DLC has put me off buying anything from this company :|

Shame really cause Payday 2 was awesome before they tried cashing in.
