Overtaking a funeral procession

I don't know the dead person and I'm not choosing to be in a procession. There's nothing disrespectful to me in driving according to the laws of the road and overtaking in a sensible fashion.

I don't care about the dead person if I don't know them and just don't see how it is possibly "disrespectful".

Shameful

It's disrespectful to the family/friends - they are burying their loved one and you cannot wait a few minutes behind their ceremony.

Fair play, if I held your opinion I would not overtake so I didn't look like a bell end. I feel you are in the minority.

Are you autistic?

There's not just the dead person in the procession is there? How's about "Respect thy Neighbour?" Especially when its in a difficult and emotional time such as a funeral.
You obviously haven't heard or know the meaning of respect.

Guess you just weren't brought up to show respect in the same way others do.
I wouldn't say it's disrespectful to the dead person, but more to the mourners in the procession.
As said, it's just accepted common courtesy to wait. Maybe the same way you don't go shouting your mouth off in church.
These people are in a procession, a group, altogether on a journey to say a final farewell to a loved one.
Most onlookers would 'respect' that.

Whether you know a person who has died or not, its about having respect/manners for your fellow men/women.

I think 99% of people respect others, their property and were raised in a such a way when there is a funeral procession its just common courtesy and respect to hang back and only overtake on a dual carriage-way and where possible allow the group of cars to remain together.

Just joining in to make you even more aware that you are a disrespectful ****. Learn some manners.

I don't even care if I get an infraction for this post cos he deserves it.

People seem to have got very upset with me - my point is just that if the conditions allow it (eg. dual carriageway and clear view) then I see no reason not to pass if I'm not involved in the procession.

If the OP and others in the thread don't want to know views then why pose the question and then proceed to attack someone for views that appear to dffer with theirs?

Problem with having a Honda is you have to Vtec to get any torques to pass anything.

;)

Your attitude and the fact you did not specify dual carriage way etc... Is why you got such a reaction.
