i dont open the cooler from the blister pack

@alexhull - the noctua is easliy the quietest
but the fenrir does outperform it

tbh though - my dimas tech bench at work runs a C0 chip at 4.2 using a noctua with a delta fan on it

and it performs very nicely

What PSU would be good for this setup? I'm trying to price up what it would cost with a 24" screen as well as the full system. I'm out of the loop with graphics cards as well! Doh.

I can't give away the settings unfortunatly as that defeats the point of the bundle

Received mine yesterday, was 3.8ghz at 1.3 vcore iirc, not quite 4 but oh well, not going to lose any sleep over 200mhz even if 4.0 was in the product description, maybe the chip wasnt so good or something

Turbo mode? Havent fiddled around with BIOS or whatever very much since building it yesterday, i'm assuming the option is there? What does it do exactly?

Edit -- Also, is it worth leaving speedstep on or whatever as it seems to be active?

Will up the multi from 20x to 21x when under load.

Would explain why at 3.8ghz if idle, try run prime, open cpu-z and see if it goes to 21x and 4ghz as cpu speed

Thanks very much, shows what i know about i7's

It stays at about 2.6 idle anyway and just ramps up under load

Not that its a real indication of anything, but it scored 7.7 on the Windows perfomance index thing, and my 4870x2 scored 6.1 lol

i made the clock so that you get a balance of power saving and high performance when both are needed

Going great so far, bit of a whining sound coming from either my graphics card or the fenrir, not sure which yet! Running perfectly though, always do a bit of panicing when it comes to applying thermal paste, but i'm getting around 25-35c idle, which is pretty good for the first day i think!

'System' temperature is higher than the CPU temperature, even!

Keep up the good work!

Any tips on a decent PSU and graphics card for this system? I won't be doing much if any gaming but want to be able to use high res monitors.

Will this kit still run at its advertised 4ghz ? I didnt understand why morthoseths was @ 3.8ghz or maybe it hits 4ghz under load?

Can the Titans fan be replaced with a more silent fan? or considering this is an overclocked kit is it not worth replacing ? I was thinking perhaps a Coolermaster V10 TEC Hybrid CPU Cooler may cool down this sucker !

Is this kit with HT enabeled or disabled?

Is each kit personaly tested for stability @ 4ghz before shipped out?
