Overwatch

Played in a group of 6 with Mav and co tonight.

Held off trying Ana until the very last game, my verdict - Boring!

Don't get me wrong, her ult is very powerful when used on a Tank (Reinhardt is devastating) but the lack of head shot damage means she's not a great defense sniper and her healing isn't that impressive either.

Prefer Lucio. I can passively heal and still do decent damage.

Ana seems slightly under powered from what I've seen so far. Soldier is better than I expected given the changes though. Good move with Zen as well.

Maybe they should have left Ana out of Season 1 and added her to Quickplay only first. Seeing people picking her in comp games last night and just hoping they had at least played her once or twice in PTR; only to never really see them, except dieing in the killfeed. :(

DVA is now worth playing after the update. Her ulti is devastating especially now you can survive it yourself. With her shield that can be toggled on or off she's a major threat in games now.

I was excited for the D.va buffs but struggling to do well as her so far... Probably just need to practice with the defense-matrix but I seem to still just get totally shredded almost immediately so far

Not played this in ages. I just feel no urge to play, games are rarely well balanced and it just becomes a bit tedious.

Was fun for a short while but expected a bit more from myself as i thought i'd sink a lot of time into it.

She doesn't do a lot of damage herself, she's more of a constant low/medium damage character rather then a DPS one. She's more useful for using her sprint to annoy a group of people by getting up close, unleashing her primary fire then sprinting away again. A good reaper and widowmaker can easily destroy you though if you don't use your shield as she has quite a big hit box for someone to get critical damage on you.

Yeah, she's great as a flanker disrupting back line, but still isn't amazing at frontline tanking like the others.

I'm in a similar place. I think it's because we've grown used to using DVa as a kind of tanky back-lines harasser. The defence matrix changes make her much more effective at protecting her team, and so should perhaps be played in more of a front-door assault role now.

The only time I really play her is on KotH maps but always do reasonably well, usually 2-3 gold medals and 1-2 silvers, haven't really used her much on the other maps though but as I said above I still think she's best used being an annoying flanker.

Yeah pretty much done with it myself now. The balance issue making far too many games leaving me raging. Maybe if I had a few dedicated regulars to hook up with, though I really cannot be arsed.
I'll keep an eye in and play a game or two and watch the new charaters and maps come in, though yes, thought I would be playing a lot more. I played a lot of the |Beta also.

Only heard of that Korean teen girl the other day that made pros quit, accusing her of cheating. :)

I'd say the new patch went a long way to sorting out balance issues.

Mcree is good at range now, so good against Pharah
D.VA is a decent Tank now
Zenyatta and his discord orbs are ridiculous (but he's still pretty weak)

I meant balance as in players skill and team cohesion.
Half my games are easy or pretty easy victories, and then on the other hand I am on the team that feels outclassed from the start and throughout the match, leading to mega frustration.

Being a solo queuer does not help, though that is what the vast majority of players are.

Guess just need the skills to level out a bit more. It is very apparent some players do not deserve anywhere near the rank in my teams sometimes, especially playing as Mercy as you are concentrating on their play and sometimes can do nothing but cringe as the Pharah you are healing/boosting flaps around uselessly, boosting and smashing their skulls into bridges they did not know where above them and basically freeze, dumbfounded as to why they are not soaring up high, safe in the sky.

D,Va doesn't have self heals to be back line harasser. She could self heal while the defence matrix is up, but that will make her too powerful. She is a front line brawler.

I like Ana. Headshot capabilities would improve her. Extra heal and damage. She is good secondary healer, and can provide the main healer with support.

Well that's how I've been playing D.Va since the update, on payload delivery anyway.

She can boost in, cause havoc and sustain a fair amount of fire, boost out, ideally for healing from a teamate or perhaps to the nearest health pickup and in the meantime your team-mates are moving the payload with less hassle from the enemy team because they were all distracted.
