Overwatch

Yep. Can't be that difficult to implement.

Competitive Rules with Ranking
Competitive Rules without Ranking
Quick Play - do what ever you want.

Getting bored of coming up against cheese teams.

The issue is, the more categories you have the more fragmented the player base, and the longer queues get/the worse matchmaking will be. Three options at once (leaving aside the brawls) seems too much, but replacing "competitive season X" with "competitive practice" between seasons makes sense.

I could use some friendships for the next competitive season. I missed the last one as I took a bit of a break after playing way too much in the first few weeks and getting very salty with the quickplay solo queue.

Skillwise I think I am ok, not going to win any awards. If you can make anything tangible out of the stats, you can check me out here.

I am less active Monday to Wednesday due to work. From Thursday evening on, I am insanely active though.

I think there is some kind of Anti Bastion going on, I finish top of the damage most of the time or player of the game but no one votes for me :(

I think it's because (and no offence to the Bastion mainers here), he's inherently quite boring and easy to play. Learning the best spots to hunker down is about all that's necessary to play him well outside of the ability to aim.

I actually prefer playing him offensively these days. Defensively he's just so boring. At least on attack there's more that sense of urgency. Flanking the enemy team and gunning them all down is about the most satisfying thing you can do in the game.

Even though it only just came out the amount of salt/rage about season 2 on reddit is real... People seem to be finding that their placement games don't place them as high as they feel they ought to be (based on directly mapping the 1-100 range from season 1 onto the new 1-5000 range)...

"wtf bro I was rank 70 in S1 but I only got 2600 in the placements; I'm clearly a Diamond level player not Gold - whole system is broken!!11!!!!1!"

Aha what a load of horse. If you're that good you'll get the rank you think you 'deserve'.

Besides, placements matches can absolutely put you TOO high. My friend in S1 won all of his placement matches, got placed in rank 60 something and preceded to consistently loose until he hit the mid 40s.

What I'd have thought they would do is map what would be roughly the 1-100 from before (moderated by actual performance in the placements of course!) onto say the 1-3000 range (so the very top-most rank ~80+ players would end up ~3000, down to the low rank ~20 players closer to the low 100s, and put nobody above 3000 to start with...

After all - climbing up the ranks and seeing the progress as you go from silver to gold to diamond etc. is fun and rewarding (generally) - compared to placing very high and then just sitting there (in my opinion, not that I would be one of the top players by any means anyway, but still)

Cheers man.

Me and a mate went to check out what was happening on the patch and me and an enemy Reinhardt got caught in a Roadie sandwich.

Basically, for those that don't see what happens. I flank them and activate my ultimate. at the same time my mate unleashed his with Roadhogg, the enemy Roadhogg did the same. Then the Reinhardt tried to charge my mate, he got hit into the opposite direction and caught me (how unlucky is that?) then their hogg was hitting me and my mate was hitting the Reinhardt causing us to bounce across the room. It's a shame really as that was a really good position for me to set off the ultimate.

Needless to say that shocked me to the core. Didn't even realise what actually happened until I looked back on it, I thought it glitched or something.

Not so funny at the time, but hilarious when I found out what happened.

Link because I am dumb and don't know how to properly embed video's.
