Overwatch

Yeah, the only issue was when we took the near diamond team to tie breaker on gibraltar (after you left). We were defending at the cart from the start instead of at the choke point at the corner. Way too risky as they only have to run out the door to get back we had to traverse the entire map. The fact we took them that far was cool though and almost held them up at the end.

A few of us teamed up for few games last night. Managed to do a few 6 man. Started off well with a win, followed by a narrow loss. Then we had a player leave, which in my ultimate wisdom I decided to replace with a diamond rank player. Dragged our gold/plat ranked team against a full rank plat team (all close to diamond themselves). Despite that we were seconds from holding out for a draw, but they were clearly better. It was not bad for a thrown together team that never played with each other before mind.

Agreed! We did very well in those first few matches. Don't think we could have done much more with the rest. The opposing teams where just better :/

It is a 5000 point scale, but being under 2500 doesn't mean you're in the bottom half of players. I believe 2500 is equivalent of rank 60 from last season, which is the top 6% of players. The vast majority of players will be 2000-2300.

Ah, well I feel much better about that outcome then. TBH as long as I'm in the right ballpark (i.e. as long as I have about a 50% chance of winning a given game) I'll be happy enough.

Pfffft, excuses. Jogging? JOGGING??!?! It's like you have a life of something xD

Barely

I'll be on again tonight :D

What did you make of POIO? He's the random I joined up with the previous night

We played on Gibralter before and we did sit on the payload and fended them off getting anywhere near the first point. He just usually runs rings around people as Lucio without dying much.

I wasn't sure about that strategy either but it worked out then. But we weren't facing all platinum players at the time.

He seemed good man. Obviously didn't feel the same about us judging by the rage quit xD

A game last night ended up in a bit of a farce. Lost the first round as defenders at Volskaya, after which 3 members of my team quit, leaving us unable to even exit the spawn room...

So a bit hit and miss last night, resulting in me being in exactly the same position as when I started (rank 2225)

I started pc placements last night with 3 otherst and then a 4th and we lost all 4 games. Just really poor team play so I left the group and solo q'd. Ended up winning 4 then and losing 2 and have a low placement.

I'm not playing with those guys anymore lol

Aw, be nice (it wasn't me, was it?) - everyone has an off-day.

My house is next to a bit of common land that was hosting a 3-day music/beer festival this weekend.

Let's just say people who queued with me towards the end of the day would have had a less-than-amazing experience, even compared to my normal level. You'd think I would have been smart enough to stay out of Comp, but it turns out tipsy me is not good-decisions me.

Aha! See, I play so much better with half a bottle of wine with me. Often I play overly cautiously and having half a skin full helps me break out of that xD

I just THINK I play better... Turns out I lose better, get chattier in voice comms, and my ability to complain about enemy Tracers skyrockets, but other than that it's not a good thing.

Grouping up isnt much different from playing with random people if you don't know their play style.

I know now that Dr Toffnar will protect me with a Reinhardt shield and Booyaka will heal me like mad, boost my damage and res me when needed :)

Hey! Don't frame me as 'the Reinhardt guy'! Had a hard enough time shaking off the Lucio role xD

good games indeed last night - despite the number of losses - each game was great fun and very close/enjoyable ones.

Still loving this game. Just had some toxic player on our team saying we were all bad etc but I find it really hard to get angry on Overwatch so ended up just laughing down the mic. Not sure if coming from a Counter Strike backround has hardened me to toxicity haha!

I fear I'm in danger of getting a reputation as the guy who bails out as soon as there is a loss :D

Reality is that during the week I'm lucky to get an hour a night on Overwatch until the g/f goes to bed and comp matches seem to go on a while. I think we got two games in during an hour yesterday! Kings Row (Win) and Hanamura (Narrow loss)

Looks like rain this weekend so I'm sensing a lot of time to play Overwatch comp :)

You where lucky my friend. We played something like 5 or 6 matches after and lost all but 1 xD
