Overwatch

Ic so thats how it works.
I'm 63, with 2000 credits, never spent anything.
Thinking about buying some loot boxes but I don't think I can justify it lol
I'm now level 99 near 100. If the next 22 or so are quicker then I can't justify it to myself just yet :(

I hit level 200 a few days before the event started and got to around level 206 or 207 so enjoying getting a few quicker boxes over the next few evenings :) Hoping to get the Reaper skin, will buy the Pharah and Zen skins if I don't get them some other way as I play both of those a lot...

God damn where do you find the time to play it that much? I'm Jealous :p

I will buy some loot boxes if I fail to get any drops more than likely.

Ive had it since launch and am only lvl16!

Though i havent wanted to play but lately been wanting to put time in to get to the ranked mode and get good with some characters! Just tried junkrat for the first time and did really well, got PotG which was cool

Mei seems decent too

I didn't think 200 was that high - have seen people in the 500+ ranges pretty regularly... been playing the game pretty consistently since it came out so probably about an hour most weekday evenings and then a fair few hours on the weekend days...

I'd almost forgotten this was an option. I've become rather addicted to Overwatch, apparently it's now my 7th most played game ever... so I went and bought 24 loot boxes, why not. Got quite a few decent skins. Here's a few -

In my 50 boxes, I got the roadhog skin three times, and didn't get the junkenstein one at all, which was a bit upsetting. However, I did accumulate the 3000 credits to buy it from the hero gallery.

Witch Mercy is still my favourite though, and that came in one of the first boxes I opened. I guess I'm a Mercy main now, at least until the novelty of the witch skin wears off. :p

Some good rounds tonight - still can't crack the brawl on hard, but it's super fun.

Managed to average a slight climb in ranked as well - met a 4some who invited me to join for a few rounds. All actually close games, it was really good play all round. Lovely. Still not hit plat, but I feel it's achievable :D

Good for you man :D I on the other hand think I'm just done with this game... have fallen down to around 2600 again after virtually being Diamond and lately the rare wins aren't even fun, the losses are completely crushing and I have absolutely no sense at all that I am improving or that anything is changing... Every single round of competitive is just each team waiting to Ana boost either Rein or Reaper and then see if the other team can do it better... The whole thing feels like feverishly buying scratch-cards in the hope that one day you might land the big jackpot (but you probably won't and will have wasted your time/money)

Yeah. I'm still playing nothing but WoW, but I've been sneaking a few League games in rather than Overwatch. I always seem to go back to League. I thought Overwatch would replace it but doesn't seem like it anymore.

Going to see if I can hit diamond again next season, but I'll be super out of practise by that time so not sure I'll be able to.

Haha I feel the same half the time bud. I'm just cruising through quick play with friends. Was 50points from Masters. So frustrating to get games with people who only play Widowmaker and the like.

I have no idea why it has taken me so long to get this game, I've had friends/internet friends telling me I should pick it up for yonks.

It is literally so much fun, I have no idea what I'm doing. In a weird sort of way, it reminds me quite a lot of Unreal Tournament and Team Fortress 2.

Absolutely fantastic fun so far.

How many levels are there?, I'm level 10.

You can level to 100, at which point you get a star and go back to 1. Each 100 levels you get a star, and every few hundred you get a new border colour. I think there are people who are 500+, and one guy who's like 1000 having played 12 hour days since it came out.

The levels mean nothing though - just time played basically, so don't worry about them other than the fact you get access to competitive mode at level 25+, and you get a loot box each level-up. I don't think anyone really looks at level.

I've been on quite a slide, sitting just above 2,000 now and the losses often are annoying and I wonder why I play... but I do... I think I'm a little addicted tbh.

Every now and then though, you have a great game and I feel it makes it worth while. Last night, playing KOTH maps, we lost the first round quite bad. One guy starts blaming everyone else. I wasn't playing well as Junkrat. We start the second and are losing, but a couple of us switch and you can tell things have changed, but too late for that round.

0-2 down and we're now playing much better with our new mix... and come right back to win 3-2. One opponent comments at the end how much his team is raging. We adapted, they didn't. Simple as that I guess.

Haven't read much of the thread just have to say this. Why is Comp matching so terrible? I have far better games in general quick play than I do in comp.

I go on the game, atm I am at 1980... I lose and after 6 matches I might be able to get back where I started off at... I can't get any higher.

Its ridiculous.

ELO Hell. Basically you're potentially stuck with players that refuse to understand the game or just ****ue about. As the game ranks you up on wins only regardless of how well you play you still go down.

It can be very hard to climb up. :(

If you play multiple matches and always gravitate back to the same ranking then it's working as intended, unless you think you are becoming a better player (or are already better than the average player of your level). If you play better than your current level, then over time you will go up. The main problem as I see it is that 'over time' means dozens of matches, and many of us I assume don't play enough to make that many, so it feels random and unfair.

Issue is the team composition - it feels very random. For example I can have one match where the team is perfect and it takes some work to win. Other times I can be with a team and its like they're not even there.

Just doesn't seem like the players are consistent skill base.
