Overwatch

This game is completely unplayable for me since around the Doomfist PTR announcement. Every match I enter, I start on about 500+ ping which slowly goes down, but usually hovers around 100+ (I was on about 30-40 before), and I get constant rubber banding and lag spikes. I'm on a powerline ethernet and have the region on Europe. It's so frustrating.

That sucks, I did read on the forum a few people were having lag on overwatch and it was being caused by background programs on their pc (asus and avg) but guess it could be anything.

Have you tried making a post on their forum for help?

Im ranking down pretty hard since I started maining doomfist, I got 7 hours in on comp already spent the day on it.

He isn't as good as I first thought, he has 250 health but he takes so much damage it feels like much less. Getting shot by a diva feels like you getting hit by bastion and this isn't great for a character that needs to be in their face.

It sounds like you aren't playing him right or playing him into comps that counter him. Doomfist is an absolute beast and I'm expecting a nerf in a few weeks.
You need to play around corners and line your shots up, bait people into kill zones. He isn't a Winston / Genji dive type char. He's great at dealing with divers, Winston Jumps in and bubbles, smack him out of it.
I've played versus some really good doomfist players at 3600 and he can really bully you if you don't counter properly

Yeah your right something was wrong on first day I was dying so quick, I'm much better at keeping him alive now.

He does seem really good now I had more practice and I gone up 250 points since yesterday morning.

The main way I fight now is fully charge a punch at them upercut spin 180 and dive back safe. Is this correct?

He is great for turning a game around when you charge in get a kill then ult.

My rank is still really low at the minute 2250 so matches are still pretty easy, I'm hoping to get back into diamond by end of season with maining doom but doubt it will happen.

Doomfist should not have been introduced this early in competitive games.

Every game I have played with him on my team has resulted in a loss. People really don't know how to play him at all and its so annoying as ALL doomfist players that I have come across are not willing to change at all. Even when losing 0-2 on maps like oasis/nepal etc... It is so infuriating.

:mad::mad::mad:

Edit - **** hanzo mains too!

I don't think delaying him would help at all, I have had him for a few weeks now and still my first day on comp was a disaster something like 25% winrate.

A lot of comp results at the moment come down to who has the least **** doomfist on their team. People playing him in comp because 'DOOMFIST MAIN NOW" with less than 1hr played in all modes. I report them every time. Hopefully with the new report system they might get a ban and stop ruining comp matches for 5 other people every time.

If only this had happened before... oh wait it did with Orisa, and with Sombra, and then with Ana before that...

It'll happen again too, but nothing will change and nobody will care because hurr durr new stuff

I've played a lot of Orisa this season and despite being decent with her, still get so much abuse from other players that she's "not a good pick" etc.

At the level I'm at (2200/2300), people just need to pick their best character and play that, rather than "the meta says 2/2/2" etc

I'm all for people playing the character and not the meta (I'm a junkrat "main" to some extent) however I find it annoying when things are just not working and people are not willing to change character. I get that people might not know how to play other characters however, this type of game needs you to have more than one "main" to be viable as invariably things won't go right all of the time. Sometimes not willing to change at all will cost the game, so playing a different character at a lower level might be better than your main depending on the composition of the other team.

Had a game last night and we couldn't seem to get the final push at the first point in Gibralter. I changed from a tank to Bastian and we steam rolled it all the way to the end in what felt like record time. In this instance, it was the other team that didn't adapt to our composition.

Yeah you need to stick to what you are good at if not your rank will fall fast.

I can't aim very well so when people ask me to play soldier or mcree to take out phara and I just say sorry I can't aim you take hitscan and most people are ok with it.

I now have a few characters I can play well junk, torb, mercy, doom, sym, winston, rein so I can fill in other rolls just not anti phara.

I think 2,2,2 is the old meta from what I seen lately 1 heal 1 tank 4dps is winning a lot of comp matches.

Some people will always complain just block them.

Had another good run on comp yesterday gone up another 100 points with mainly doom.

Got 17 hours comp on him now.

When doom has good healing he is amazing he can just smash them jump home over and over.
Also if you don't have good healing then the large health packs are great to have in range of a jump then any time you take damage you can just jump at the health pack get full health and go straight back in.

Orisa is fantastic. Its great that if you have all your abilities up, you can pretty much 1v1 any character. Just need smart use of the barrier, halt and fortify. It feels so great to just destroy a Hog or Reaper, who should in theory melt you.

I have a few hours on Doom now and I just cannot work his damage out. One moment I absolutely melt a Rein with an Uppercut, 3/4 blasts in the air then a charge into a wall and the next he will come away with between half to 3/4 health. The worst one seems to be Symmetra. I have hit her with everything including a near point blank charge into a wall and she seemingly walks away unscathed EVERY time. It just seems that shields have a better defense against his abiltiies.

It's all to do with how long you hold the charge down for and whether or not they hit a wall.

A fully charged punch into a wall will kill any character apart from the tanks.

With rein remember he has armour so when he is on full health your shot gun will not be very effective.

that is what I am saying. Point blank full charge into a wall and she walks away as if id just tickled her. Happened at least a hand full of times. Tracer, Widow, Junk, Torb and countless others all get squashed like bugs and she just whistles and strolls off

I can't say I have noticed this happening and the 2 characters sym and doom are my mains.

Maybe zarya is saving her with bubble? Or maybe just a bit of panic against sym and not charging for long enough?

I have no doubt there is something going on as I have not been able to find anyone else complaining of similar...It is just frustrating to say the least.

Although anyone that mains Sym should burn in the deepest darkest fiery pits of hell :(

Having a blast on quick play at the moment. I was getting to the stage where i was getting frustrated on competitive and wanted to sack it off. Decided i would try learn Genji and like i said, its fun. The problem is, on competitive i am always the sap that changes from his main to support/tank to help the team. Very annoying.

I have to say though Doomfists charge is insane. I don't know if it needs a bit of a nerf or i just need to learn how to avoid it.
