Overwatch

That makes no sense. characters take the exact same amount of damage.

technically correct,

but people forget mercy buff/ Zenyatta buffs/

also sheilds are affected differently by fire than health

so zenyatta/Va are very different in that aspect

They have different HP/Shields. IMO the netcode feels horrific at 20 tick, it's as bad as BF4 used to be.
not had even 1 instance of me thinking ive hit somone and not?,
what are you refering to?

on side note, your the guy that always High tick rate is must, & im "pro" player right?

its not even released yet, & esport has not been announced higher tick rate will come...

I doubt it will be an esports unless there's a pro mod released. Its just a game to have a bit of fun I wouldn't down rate the game because of the tick rate.

Indeed.

Been playing this a lot, enjoying it immensely.

Don't be scared to try out new characters and watch a how to play video of that character first.

Valkia's vids are good.

Got my first legendary skin drop, would be for Junkrat, only played one or two games with him.
Just had an epic ten game session after grouping up with some random from a game.
Glad I gave this a little longer as after my first few games I was a bit bored with it, learning to play a few of the other classes, seems to have opened up the game.
Lucio is so tanky.

i will bet you it will

standard client is 30 tick server is 60

It's a Blizzard game so you can guarantee they will push the esport side as much as possible.

Should be fun. I look forward to watching casters trying to call a Tracer v Tracer duel :D

Really?

Sniper - 1 shot kill
Hanzo - 1 shot kill
Bastion hiding in the corner - dead in under a second
Tracer 3 blinks towards you and half a clip and you're dead.

There's just so much instakill stuff that you can't react to. It's spammy as hell.

The maps seem open but have so many ridiculous choke points that the enemy can just turtle behind. It promotes ridiculously campy gameplay (with the exception of tracers which you will just die to constantly)

This is why I stopped playing the beta, too easy to die, too easy to kill. The version before Christmas seemed better

I believe it has to do with how often the server refreshes per second, in that case it should be refreshing 60 times per second. Obviously more is better, better hit registration etc.

Client updates 30 times a second
Server updates 60 times a second.

Played a few games as Mercy, my first time ever playing a healer in any game. It was actually quite fun, especially powering up Bastion's DPS as a group of the opposition comes around the corner.

Pity her hand guns does practically no damage, thought I'd try to get a few kills...didn't end well for me ;)

See how much fun you're having the 100th game where you're forced to play a support because every other player on the team won't... It does get old. Most of the time it comes down to this choice in a lot of matches:
1. Suck it up and play support because no-one else will
2. Lose

Which is a bit of a shame, but hopefully once they bring back some ranked/more competitive game modes people will play to win a bit more and we won't always have teams with 2 or 3 snipers on them

I see people mentioning esports in relation to overwatch and I'm sorry but I just don't see it. Most of the competitive FPS players I know are generally steering well clear of this one and I think it's way too shallow of a game to provide any kind of decent viewing experience. It's a casual game and I don't think the type of players it's marketed at really care all that much for esports.

One of the reasons why CSGO is such a popular esport is because not everyone can do the things the pro players do because the skill gap is quiet large. This makes people want to watch it to see good frags/ plays and they're never in short supply. The problem with overwatch is that it's the exact opposite, why would I sit and watch a bunch of "pros" spamming "Q" every other minute and making "big plays" when I could just go do it myself in a pub game?

Without the viewing experience you don't have viewer numbers and without viewer numbers you have little to no sponsors. This then means smaller prize pools and a less competitive scene overall. Blizzard might throw a few high profile showcase matches to promote the game, but I don't think OW has any esport potential.

Prepare to eat your words. It is going to be up there.
