All of Blizzard's games in the last 10 years have been either part of their established franchises or improved versions of other popular games. They hit the jackpot with WoW and Hearthstone because, at the time of their release, there were no popular, genre defining MMOs or card games.
These two latest games, the MOBA and team based shooter, will be released into a market dominated by games which offer its players everything they need. Blizzard has a huge player base so I doubt they will fail but they won't be huge hits either.
Hearthstone gave me hope that Blizzard was changing its direction but now I'm thinking it was just a fluke (I did read somewhere that Hearthstone was originally a pet project of a handful of developers and its success was unexpected). The managers are getting older, more conservative, richer and reluctant to make changes or follow up on new ideas.
