Overwatch

Zenyatta. AI kills me all the time. However when I play him I can't hit anything much. At least no 1-2 shot kills he always seems to get.

AI?

I'd not bother with the AI opponents, just have a brief practice in the range and then jump right into Quick Play. Human opponents move differently and you may as well train for the kind of targets you're likely to face.

With Zenyatta, the 'killer' combo is Discord orb, plus 1-2 headshots for most squishier characters. His main damage shots (I'm trying to to say 'balls' too many times) have a travel time so you need to lead slightly, but it's something you will get a feel for. The other option is hanging back, charging up a 5-ball volley and then peeking out and releasing it at head height.

One thing I found VERY useful on him - rebind the orbs. If you go into key bindings, click "all heroes" and you can make hero-specific changes, including display health bars, crosshair type etc. I have harmony on mousewheel-up, discord on mousewheel-down. Makes it easier to move+orb at the same time. I know other people who use discord on RMB, but I find the charge-up shot is useful enough to keep bound.

if only it was top 3% really there is nothing i can do to rise, yhe team play is so bad and your lucky to have a game without a dissconnect, id say one in 10 games are good close contests.

Halloween crap has arrived.
My first box I got a legendary - the 3000 credit junkenstein's monster 'Roadhog' skin. Score!

I then opened not one but two duplicate copies...

Ah well. The brawl is excellent fun, recommended. I played it as Mcree and as Hanzo, looking forward to ana next.

The Halloween update is rather cool. Liking the game but wow people can't play Hanzo. Not saying i'm great but to be in matches where people only get 10 zombie kills, I wonder why they are doing.....

I bought 50 loot boxes the moment I logged in and saw the patch had hit. Scored all of the gold skins, and most of the purples. That Mercy skin is pretty much my favourite thing in the world at the moment.

I managed to top 125 zombie kills with Hanzo, not far off my Mcree and soldier numbers. And I am NOT good with him against human opponents. How anyone manages to miss the slow moving zombies is beyond me. I think it must be people forgetting his scattershot - that tags a load and can finish off a pack nicely.

So far the only ways I've found to fail that event are:
1) You need to take out ranged zomnics first
2) People focus roadhog, rather than mercy, which strings the fight out and too many small ones reach the door in the meantime.

I mean, theoretically if nobody can shoot straight the tyres might do the door in, but not in the games I've been in.

I've spent some real money on loot boxes - scratches the 'want new things itch', and the game is worth more than the £40 I paid I reckon. Doubt I'll go over about £65 total spend (including main purchase) unless I'm still playing it next year.

Liking the new Halloween stuff, few loot boxes no skins yet unfortunately. I want to buy some but can't justify the money for the boxes. Luckily heros I play have skins that are 750. Pharahs and Reins skins are very nice :) will buy them on last day if I haven't gotten them in boxes. Kinda bad being a higher rank though takes more games to get the boxes :(

The brawl mode is a nice change of pace.

I find Mccree very good (assuming you can aim) takes down the ranged mobs easily and you 1 shot reaper with your deadeye and take most the HP of the others and a few well aimed headshots and dead, which is not bad.
Anna is good for sleeping the monsters and healing ofc
Soilder is just a good DPS to kill the mobs quickly.
Hanzo is totally useless though lol, who ever gets him is handy capped :P

I have to spam click to get Mccree ^^

Wish after like 10 won games (medium or hard) you get 1 free loot box though........

Haven't tried the brawl yet... A bit surprised that the legendary skins are 3000, pretty much locks people out of being able to purchase them through the in-game currency. Pretty blatant attempt to force people into buying boxes; thankfully they're just skins as I don't care about them enough to spend money on it - would like the Reaper skin if I could get it though

I'd almost forgotten this was an option. I've become rather addicted to Overwatch, apparently it's now my 7th most played game ever... so I went and bought 24 loot boxes, why not. Got quite a few decent skins. Here's a few -

I wonder if they're going to (continue to) follow the same rules as TF2 - i.e. "Halloween" items are only able to be equipped during the yearly Halloween event, or on the night of a full moon... It makes the skins + event more special and since Halloween themed stuff tends to be so popular it stops them being the only skins you ever see...

But I think I've seen the Olympic skins outside of the Olympics, so wouldn't that suggest not?

I also think, as different events happen (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter) we will perhaps have loads of amazing skins, so always something different to see in a match.

Yeah you might be right - plus with the amount of money some people have spent to get the skins they wanted it probably wouldn't go down too well announcing after that "by the way, you can't equip these skins whenever you want to" :p

Had a funny game last night... someone in chat from a 4-man on my team asked:

"Rufus, fr?"

So I said:

"Moi? Non, je suis desole"

I think they assumed I was joking so all of a sudden the 4 of them jumped into team voice and were all speaking to each other... After I confessed that I really was not French they stayed anyway and tried to speak some English, and had some amusing moments as I attempted to recall GCSE French in the chat...

"Tu voudrais une Pamplemoose?"

We won the match as well, which was nice!

Kinda bad being a higher rank though takes more games to get the boxes :(

It's mostly the same unless you're VERY low. XP per level is lower when you're starting out at level 1-22, then 23+ it's the same per level until you hit 100.
When you prestige (i.e. hit rank 100, get a star and reset to 1) you go back to the low-XP mode until (1)22. Same at 200-222 and 300-322.

I know a few people who 'main' one or two characters and therefore never spend their currency on unlocks for the others. They all have ~9k credits saved up with no real money spent. 3k is expensive but not un-achievable for non-paying players.

Still annoyed that I opened 3 of the 3000 credit skins, and they were ALL the Roadhog one. You get 300 credits for a duplicate :(

Ic so thats how it works.
I'm 63, with 2000 credits, never spent anything.
Thinking about buying some loot boxes but I don't think I can justify it lol

The halloween stuff will almost certainly come around again next year.

It's worth noting that some of the cool halloween stuff is only 750 credits (for skins) or less. The awesome new Rein skin, for a start. You might as well play normally, then on 31 October if there's anything you want and haven't opened yet, you should have enough credits to buy it.

Also, I just realised that the halloween Symmetra skin that looks a bit lame? Turns your sentry lasers into eyeballs. Soooooo getting that when I have some credits.
