Well sure if Symmetra gets in close most characters have a bad time when her beam gets powered up, but if I have a 50+ charge and a personal bubble available she's dead 9/10 times. Plus your team should shoot her in the face if she's up in the front line.

You always rank below your season end (unless you massively decayed to 3000), Blizzard said it is intentional to avoid anomalous season highs, thats why you gain more SR for a win at the start of the season

I'd like to get up to 2000+ SR but I think my mate is holding me back (I could be wrong & it's just me as a below average player) but I feel my FPS skills that bad, BF4 I rocked even though it's a different beast ! Last season was rollercoaster of SR highs & lows falling down to my placement it gave me. One plus to trying to get a higher rank above 2000+ would be I couldn't pair with my mate haha.

I know this as a complaint of many players but I do seemed to be placed with idiot's who contributed very little to capturing a point & find myself trying harder to fill the player loss.

The good thing for me is being old (41) & not having a high in SR doesn't eat me up (though I always look to be better), couldn't care less as long as it's fun & I do me bit.

You're welcome to join me mate, I'm no expert but no rookie to FPS's either. I normally play in the evenings after 8ish. Bit busy at the moment due to my wedding being in 3 weeks and my immigration to the states happening shortly after that.
 
I have done my first 10 matches ever, got 1650SR, 3 won, 1 draw, 6 lost. Don't know what to think, I have nothing to compare to atm.
Competitive games are so looong.

I see they still haven't increase punishment for leavers......:mad::mad:

Coming back to this after 3 months away - 3 placement games played, a leaver in 2 of them so far. This is my biggest frustration with this game. Giving people a reduction in their SR etc is no deterrent to leaving the game. It should be 24/48 hour ban, then up to a 7 days if they continue to do so. Such a pain the arse.
 
Sometimes people disconnect for reasons other than tilt. Maybe someone had a power cut etc. You do get a ban for leaving a competitive game, and it increases if you do it more. What it doesn't and can't stop is you getting a leaver / disconnect 3 games in a row and each time it is the first time that person has done it. You can't really predict leavers.

There must be something wrong with competitive mode since I'm certain that it has strict requirements and those below level 25 can't access it (I'm certain that it's locked out to me and has been since I actually purchased the game since I haven't met the requirements yet).
 
Either that or I was being trolled, literally got a screenie at home of our Lucio saying "I've never played Lucio! I'm new to the game" because I asked him to use the flipping heal!!!!!
 
Me if anyone wants to add AndiC#21602, I need some group play to get me up to my promised land of 2000sr hehe.
Is there a TeamSpeak that people use ? or do you use the ingame VOIP.

If you see me playing & I don't accept the/an invite, I not being rude I'm just with another group.
 
Discord seems to be the voice chat of choice these days.

I've done 7 placements so far, 2 leavers in my sides and 4-3 record at the moment.
 
3502 woohoo :D finally got masters after 9 hours was placed at 3005 after placements and been playing lucio/zen got 77% win rate on lucio atm.. all solo que aswell!

its so weird tho how good this game gets once u get past 3100+ as everyone talks every game and when ult management comes into play just from communication it can win games so easily oh and zero toxic players too! now to hopefully climb masters!
 
Welp I'm done, 3 more games this eve, 3 more losses. I'm trying but I just get absolute idiots every single time. This rank level is just painful and I just don't have the will to play anymore. So done with OW.
 
I tried getting some anniversary boxes but that is very team defendant, 6vs6 capture the flag seems to be the easiest for me. 3vs3 is a catastrophe.
So far i managed to finish weakly challenge.

Been there myself numerous times, know how you feel...

In general and I know this might be controversial to say but to me it seems like the thing that has helped me to do better lately is - mute the voice chat! Honestly, I do understand the value of callouts and communication but I'm almost always with a group in discord who are communicating anyway, and in 99.9% of games the only thing people seem to use their mic's for is to curse their team-mates, tell people what to do, criticise their every move. For whatever reason I just can't tolerate it... get mega tilted when I know things aren't going great and some twerp starts moaning on at me (and believe me, I know when I'm playing bad, or when I need to switch, when we're not grouping or focusing etc. I don't need to be told)...

Since I muted the chat completely I feel happier and play better, even in the bad games... to those getting frustrated I say - try it!

Was 2400 last season but this season again it's just idiots everywhere............last game - sym/widow/hanzo on attack Kings Row?!??!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I thought the ranking matches were based off personal performance and disregarded how your team did? Like how people can lose 10 matches and still get Masters etc.

I would say please don't. Fair enough if someone starts being an a*se (but then you can mute just one person can't you?) I honestly feel like 'why should I bother trying if no-one wants to even communicate' when there's no-one in voice. It definitely doesn't make me feel like I should be trying to play as part of a team.
