Overwatch

Ive found more and more toxic players these days. It's normally the ones who pick soldier and expect everyone else to follow thier leed. So if they don't have a mercy following them they constantly hour for healing, or a rhart shield etc. In fact a game a few days ago I picked up heal since no one else would, toxic guy on soldier shouting all sorts as I was going round the team trying to heal anyone who needed it yet he was running off on his own into spawn etc. I gave up with him and just concentrated on the rest of the team. People like that should stick to quick play

Like I say, I don't know how you guys find them! Mind you, I would quite enjoy just telling him I was muting him and would do my best not to heal him...

Yeah I avoided healing him as often as possible. Doesn't happen all the time but it certainly happens more often these days. I didn't have the best placement matches and ended up 700-800 sp lower this season so maybe I'm just being matched with people who are either new, not very good or just don't care about playing the objective.

Seems to be the luck of the draw.

I've played quite a few comp matches over the weekend and actually had no toxic players at all.

In my opinion best multiplayer game after Battlefield 1
I put off on getting it for a year due to price and I wasn't sure I would like it but it's pretty much all I play now.

I really like the way there's healing and tanking etc in a competitive fps style. I just missed out on playing uprising but it does seem like something I would enjoy playing too, I hope they bring in more pve stuff.

I need to practice more dps heroes, most of the time I just go tank or healer for an easier game as most of the time if I don't, nobody does.

I swear blizzard are trolling me.
Placed at 2200 worked my way up through crap hanzo mains to 2475, stayed around here for a while due to leavers and draws etc.
Finally get put with a team that communicates and we are 3-2 up on illios. 90% on third point and boom "You have lost connection to servers"
I re log instantly, you are banned for 10 minutes. Now sat at 2425. GG

I got disconnected last night as well. Was close to midnight. My internet was fine but connection to blizzard client dropped and wouldn't connect. Maybe their EU servers were feeling a bit with the heat.

This annoys me - I see other people leave a game and can reconnect but when I lose my connection and re-join instantly I am banned and cant seem to re-join the game! Not sure how that works!

I would report this to Blizzard it cannot be correct behaviour... They have recently tweaked banning for leavers, sure punish people who leave games and never come back but it shouldn't stop you from coming back into the game.

mostly lucio/ana/zen but play pharah roadhog dva zarya if support gets taken quickly!
Got any vids? I mainly play Lucio and Zen, can always do with more help.

I am lvl 23 in this and enjoying it a lot, much more than I thought I would. Having read some of this thread though, I am scared of comp now lol. I am guessing you can't learn to play comp while in quick play (other than learning the chars ofc) so how do you learn what you should be doing, who you should pick etc. I do watch the occasional Youtube video but they seem to focus more on just how to play the actual char?

I am going to get flamed/reported to hell and back aren't I lol!?

Don't bother rushing into comp, the better you are when you start comp the better your rank will be to start with.

Oh no I definitely wouldn't rush into it, I don't intend on playing a lot of comp anyway but at some point will try it, just to see how I do. I was just curious as I know that people use quick play to learn new chars then move to comp when they have learnt them for example. But I have seen over and over again that quick play matches do not play out the same as comp ones, so how would you learn that without playing them?

edit: to add an example, I know in comp that team composition is important, and can change depending on what happens in game. In quick play, people generally do whatever they like (other than maybe changing their selection if the 'no healers' icon pops up), so how do you learn what needs to be done? Some described the 'meta classes to use' earlier. I have no idea who they are lol.

Maybe I am looking too much into it or not explaining myself very well, I dunno? :)

Personally I would jump right into comp just be prepared to lose most of your games to begin with, you can't learn it without playing it IMO.

In comp the basic meta is having 2 healers 2 tanks and 2 damage and it's good to learn at least one of each so you can fill in roles when no one else will.

Sometimes you need to switch characters for example if they have a phara and she is destroying your team then someone needs to take soldier/widow/mcree and shoot her down. Another example of switching would be if you are playing winston and they have a reaper and bastion which counter you then it be time to switch to different tank.

Also after a bit of experience you will be able to tell what your team needs it might be that your team isn't doing enough damage so a couple of people will need to switch to more damaging characters or it might be that you don't have enough healing going on so the healers would need to switch to better healer.

Some characters work well together for example phara and mercy are great together they can fly round constantly healing and putting out tons of damage. Some characters are really bad together like zen and lucio which don't give enough healing in a lot of situations.

That's about all I know hope it helps
