Paint Quality

The previous owners have painted our handrails etc on the stairs with F&B which they left behind and I've used it to paint over some worn patches and it seems to wear off pretty quickly.
especially on the newels/tops which everyone inevitably puts their hands on as they traverse up and down stairs.

Mate at work used F&B, I told him not too as heard bad things, but his missus wanted it. Assume it was an image thing....

He said, I wish we never used F&B! Took loads of coats, which is what I had read.
