Pakistan vs India Official thread ***spoilers***

1st innings:

Pakistan 245 all out.
India 238 all out.

2nd innings:

Pakistan currently 173-2.

Theres 3 days play left, hopefully Pakistan can bat the day out tomorrow and half of Wednesday, setting a score of 450 odd. The pitch is changing a lot and starting to favour batsmen a lot more now, so anything less then that theres always the fear that India will chase the runs down :/

The first 2 tests might have been abit boring at times, this one has been quite the opposite :D

Asifs bowling has been outstanding, and the Butt/Farhat opening combo looks hopeful for the future :)

At the moment I think that Pakistan have the slight edge, hopefully a huge score will take this game away from India.

Pakistan win the game, and the series 1-0... on day 4 :D :D :D

Kamran Akmal rightfully man of the match, but Mohammed Asif played a huge part in the win, he bowled beeeeautifully.

He CLEAN BOWLED Sehwag, Laxman and Tendulkar in the 2nd innings, 3 world class batsmen! And also produced this almost unplayable delivery in the 1st innings...

A humiliating defeat for the Indians and I think the bowlers have to take the blame here. No way should the Pakistani batsman been able to make so many runs, in the 1st, 2nd and 4th innings the ball was nipping around and the bowlers were in control so it isn't like in the 3rd innings the pitch suddenly became flat. Very very poor bowling from them and India will continue to lose like this if they don't sort out the fast bowler problems. Pathan needs to change his grip back to what it was before because bowling at 78mph just doesn't cut it. He is capable of bowling close to 90mph and he has to get back to that kind of speed. India also need a genuine fast bowler instead of 75-80 mph pie chuckers. There are two names who I hear are a bit erratic but have potential, they can't be worse than the current bunch can they?

Tendulkar in the 2nd innings was probably the only batsman who could say he was unlucky as the ball kept low but the rest I think really should have been more defensive. A gem of an innings by Yuvraj though, weird isn't it that 2 years ago when India lost to Pakistan that it was Yuvraj who made a brilliant counter attacking century when a newish Pakistani seamer had torn the Indian top order apart. The same thing happened again!

What really disappoints me is the state of the pitches in this series. It has been more of a one off test match rather than a test series as unless Pakistan were playing Bangladesh there was not going to be a result on the first 2 pitches. I don't know why but something tells me there is more than meets the eye here....

But that said well done to Pakistan, they consistantly throughout this series have shown they have the measure of the Indian bowlers. Akmal has had another top series as well, his century turned the tide for the Pakistan team as the roles might of been reversed if Pakistan had not even got to 100 which looked like happening at one point!

India have posted 328 in the first ODI against Pakistan. Sachin Tendulkar returned to form with a good century (and went pass the 14,000 ODI run mark). Dhoni and Pathan also made good knocks as well. Cautious at the start Tendulkar but to be expected after his recent poor form but later opened up.

Good bowling by Asif as well who continued his good form. Probably the first Pakistani I've seen for a long time who relies mainly on seam movement rather than swing. Think he could add a good balance to the Pakistani bowling attack as they will have top class seamers and swing bowlers in their side.

Inzamam was furious at the way he was given out, but the umpires this time were actually right, but I can understand his anger. Last time against England he jumped out of the way to avoid the ball and was given out, this time the ball came straight at him, he blocked it with his bat instead of trying to avoid it, and he was given out! Difference being this time he was outside of his crease, but personally I think he should have hit the ball for 6 and said F off.

Bad light stops play even though they were playing in the dark for well over an hour, the commentators kept talking about how bad the light was for along time before they actually went off.

It was pretty even all the way, it felt like a draw really but cant really complain about the win :) Pakistan go 1-0 up.

A cheap way for a very good match to end. Think India had the advantage at the end with Pakistani wickets tumbling but it just wasn't to be.

Tendulkar is quite unlucky against Pakistan, 4 of his 5 ODI centuries against them have resulted in defeat for India! In a way kinda highlights India's problem i.e. bowling....

I seem to have noticed the Pakistani fans aren't replying to this thread, I wonder why ;)

Well quite a turn around from my last post. India have won the series 4-1! That is the 13th game on the trot India have won batting 2nd. Dhoni, Yuvraj and Tendulkar all having really good series with the bat. Dhoni really is becoming a star in this team but is still unproven abroad. Apart from one bad innings with the ball from the Indians in the test match (which cost them the match and the series) I think India have done really well here. The Pakistani's have really found yet another quality fast bowler in Asif who bowled brilliantly throughout this series.

Now India have to deal with a wounded England team who will be looking to go all out. Got a feeling the England players are more up for this than India.

India outplayed Pakistna simple as that, should have never happened but there you go...sometimes even pak dont know what team is going to turn up themselves...injuries to inzi didnt help them either.

Saying that though Jazz, the Pak under 19's thoroughly spanked the indian under 19's :D to retain the under 19 world cup for the second straight year, first team to achieve that i think. Maybe off topic but these guys are the next generation of players to hopefully take over from the retiring seniors etc.
