Pancakes!

200g self raising flour
1tsp baking powder
1 egg
300ml milk

knob of butter to fry them in

Mix ingredients and fry in butter (I set my stove to about 80% heat) a small cup/ladle at a time. You'll notice the batter starts to solidify and small holes start to appear, that's when they're ready to turn over.

If you want to add blueberries, drop them onto the uncooked side once the pancakes are in the pan.

How many is that likely to make?

No flour in your house that's a disgrace, do you not cook anything.

I don't have any in mine, either, and no, I don't. OK, that might not strictly be true, but I tend to hurt myself every time I get 'clever' (two trips to hospital so far), so it's best I don't. :D

Lemon and sugar for me, but doubt I'll be having any this year.

lemon and sugar for me also.

has any one tried american pancakes? the thick ones

correct me if i am wrong, but a thin pancake is called a crepe, and the yanks use a thicker batter, for a thicker pancake.
are these nicer?

edit. should have read the whole thread ;)

crepe is supper thin, english pancakes are thicker than crepes and american pancakes are extremely thick. All are great, just different texture.

Pancakes with white chocolate Lindor in are great, as are those with bits of the white/caramel/milk chocolate slab from Hotel Chocolat :)
