Parcelforce, what a joke.

I've been sat downstairs in the kitchen for the last hour watching TV as I had a delivery coming, I didn't hear any knock and the doorbell wasn't rung, I went back out into the hallway and saw the "We've been and you were out" card in the letterbox.

He didn't even bother trying to deliver the item, I know this happened while I was downstairs as the card wasn't there when I went down, I didn't have the TV on loud or anything either, didn't hear a knock or the doorbell, what a ******.

Anybody else had this with any delivery services?

Going to ring up and complain later, I have to wait until 16:00 then I have to go and collect it.

Almost exactly what happened to me on thursday with Parcel farce (sic) - we were in the whole day - they didnt ring but the also did not leave a card. checked the web and they delivered the parcel to the post office which thankfully is not too far....when i get there i found out my copy of GTA 4 has been stolen.. i phoned the retailer and told them i strongly believe the parcel force guy stole it because the post office said the bag had been slashed also they did not even attempt redelivery.

disgusting.

I've heard they don't bother packing the parcel for that day and just write the card out at the depot - then all they have to do is post the little card and they can go home early.

Have another tale of useless post now, this time from the Royal Fail.

Had an interview 3 weeks ago for a games development college course, said I'd get a notification via letter within the next few days, after 2 and a half weeks nothing so I rang them up yesterday.

Told me they sent the letter the day after the interview and that I should have had it within 2 days, then they told me that it was an offer for a placement on the course, huge sign of relief.

Though thanks to the RM I could have left it too late and ended up not getting the placement, but anyway all turned out good in the end.

An insider tells me that they write these cads out before they go out on their rounds. Means they can clock off quicker, because you will probably do their job in reverse the next day.

Hah! I am correct.

Yesterday the postie gave us a "while you were out card". We all looked a bit confused as we were most definately in, and he had no package to deliver. This was untill we all read "Collection Only" scribbled on the card.

Seems that I have to go to the office and then transport my package to my house, I have no idea why they could not.

When I got there they said "You do have a car", and "mind your back" as you lift it!

Cheeky!

Parcel Force - We will get it most of the way!

Had difficulties back in the day with Amtrak delivering goods to my home address, as we were on the end of the round they'd not bother to deliver it so it could turn up anyday. Instead I changed my shipping address to work, which happened to be the post office in town. Still they couldn't find the address, even though it was right in the centre of town, with parking spaces available and a giant sign saying "post office" on the wall. How a delivery driver managed to miss that 3 days in a row I have no idea. At least RM never lost my post :)

meh im a youngest child and spoilt so iv always just rang up and spat my dummy out telling them to drive the **** back round and give me what iv paid them to deliver.
Always works.

You haven't paid them anything to deliver.

You have paid the sender to get the goods to you and they have paid the chosen given courier who have no direct contract with you, the receiver. Any service issue is little to do with the receiver, it is the sender you have the contract with and the sender who has the contract with the courier.

Indirectly I have paid them, If it wasnt for me placing my order there would not be a contract between seller and courier. If I pay for the delivery service from the sender they then enter the contract with the courier on my behalf.
If it wasnt for me placing my order they would not get the business, so ok I havnt paid them, but im the reason they are being paid.

its friday - they want an early finish

Actually most couriers work longer on Friday than the rest of the week because senders tend to despatch larger volumes on a Thursday to get goods delivered in time for the weekend.

I work for PF

Im wondering if someone will complain about me today. Today I called at a house, downstairs window open and TV on. Shouldnt be a problem then.

After knocking at the door and ringing the doorbell quiet a few times I think, hmm, nice day they might be round the back sunning themselves. Open the side gate and go round, back door is open but nobody about. I shout in the backdoor but didnt get a reply.

I then call at the neighbours on the left, then the right, nobody home. I then try banging on the door again

Safe to say they will be waiting until monday to receiver their item.

I love it the way everyone jumps on the bandwagon and puts down an entire company, not one person I know cards a house without even knocking.

Lets get one thing straight, It is not in my interest to bring back a delivery, I only have to go and do the bloody thing the next day, making twice as much work for myself.

Thank god for the voice of reason. I tell people this all the time and they still refuse to believe it. Do you guys at PF have an equivalent of "Lack of Driver Time" on your mobile workers? That's what our guys use if they genuinely have no time to deliver a con.

The one that gets me is customers who tell me "I watched through my window and saw the TNT driver pull up, get out, come to the door, he never knocked, then he got back in the van and drove off"

Well if you watched him do all that why on EARTH didn't you just go down and open the door while he was stood there? Are these people voyeurs or something!?

^^^ Good point :)

Whenever I see any courier (that I am expecting) pull up I go outside and greet/help them carry my new found loot into the house :D

ages ago, i ordered the hd-dvd drive for my 360 and it was sent by parcelforce, i didnt know when it was going to be delivered because the company does'nt guarantee dleivery dates, anyway on the day it arrived i was at work and when i got home it was left on my door step!!!!! Cheers! anyone could have walked down my drive and nicked it.

i went online to see who signed for it, and it was just a squiggle, in a way i was glad i didnt have to go down to the depot to get it, but i would have been really annoyed if it had got nicked!!

I try to only purchase from vendors who use Parcelforce or Royal Mail because it's a lot easier to go and collect from my local Post Office than to have to find a courier depot on a some godforsaken trading estate in the back end of beyond.

If I get something delivered though Citylink I have to drive 45mins there and back to pick it up.

However, Royal Mail have got in the habit of leaving Amazon deliveried right on my doorstep, come rain or shine. Usualy rain.
