Bono's comments apparently

U2 lead singer Bono has said the Paris massacres especially the attack on the music concert was IS’s first “direct hit against music.”

Bono said the bombs and bullets at the Eagles of Death Metal concert showed the attackers don’t like music.

“Our first thoughts at this point are with the Eagles of Death Metal fans,” Bono told the Dave Fanning Show on Irish radio 2FM today.

******* idiot.

Not you, Him. :)

Look at all the differing opinions just on here. Some people don't know what we should do. Some people seem to think education is the answer. A few think we should kill everybody. The other side seem to have a plan, we haven't got a clue. This is why western culture will eventually collapse, all civilisations do eventually.
I bet I will be reading about various atrocities committed by these religious loonies until the day I die. I hate to think what sort of world our children will see.

So what do you want to do then? Bury your head in the sand and let IS spead like a plague, do you really think if they take all of Syria they will stop there?

I want to step up airstrikes against IS positions. Do it properly rather than half-baked like we're doing now. Burying my head in the sand is not the answer, nor do I suggest that it would be a sensible course of action for the UK government.
However, blaming a large group of Syrian civilians for the actions of IS is not only inappropriate, but dangerous. If we start killing civilians willy nilly we will make more extremists out of whoever is left.
You can't hold an entire country accountable for the actions of a few. If we could, Germany and Japan would not be countries today.

Do you really think they are going to stop once they take Syria and Iraq?

I'm not saying do nothing.

But it is worth noting that the situation in Iraq/Syria is very much a situation of causation. It didn't randomly happen. It was similar actions to what you are proposing.

I'll let the government decide what is the correct action to take within reason. Nuking the region is unnacceptable.

So IS also hate cafes and football...

How about supporting the Syrians to take back their country? You do realise that Syrians have suffered a bit more than the West right?

This guy gets it.

As I said above, we need to infiltrate IS and attack them from the inside, like they're rather effectively doing to us.

Of course not but destroying the lives of so many people who are not involved in this is not an answer.

I'm not advocating simply nuking the entire 'Islamic State', but why is it we were justified in bombing, for example, Dresden, but not justified in bombing Raqqa? IS clearly classifies our civilians as legitimate targets, so are we not justified in doing the same to 'theirs'? These are conversations that will be had every time IS attacks us, and every time they attack us there will be more and more support for a mass bombing campaign against IS.

If you are not in favour of that then what would you do differently to what we're doing now, because clearly this cannot be allowed to continue.

They have given us warning that they are smuggling ISIS terrorists in, disguised as migrants! Why do we not take them seriously?! How many terrorist attacks will take place in the coming years, in the UK also, before we realise we can't be so accepting of this BS. We will be facing the repercussions of this mass migration for years.

until someone of some importance gets killed

This post probably won't go down well but just ranting, girlfriend shows me her facebook and everyone's incorporating the french flag into their profile picture, yes it is very sad those 128 people died and I genuinely feel for their friends and family but last year over 6 thousand people committed suicide in the uk alone, 6 thousand, wheres FB's flag of solidarity for those people.

Hardly the same though, is it?

Ok so if we don't put boots on the ground how do we stop them, they already kill all in the regions they control that opposed them and won't convert to their way of thinking, they take away the children to brainwash them and sell the women as wifes, so if we let them spread those people will be in a far worse position( of course I don't want to nuke the region) but we have to do somthing to stop the spread of IS before it's too late

Why do you think air strikes will kill an ideology?

How you ever taken the time to look into how IS recruit people?

We're not them, by doing as they do we become what we're currently livid at.

Personally I agree with what Rilot suggests.

We can't say O were attacking you because you killed our civilians and indiscriminately bomb them. It needs to be surgical, unfortunately I dont think there is anyway of stopping this from happening in reality. Any retaliation will provide more victims to further the brainwashing ability of these groups.

Theres simply no way to detect who is an isn't an extremist. If we silence the non violent hate speakers all we do is create a two tier free speech system which will only further the feelings of resentment and thus lead to more extremists.

What a ridiculous comparison.
