It was just a random house, on a street, you'd have had no idea it was a mosque unless you were told, i was too young to know its exact location. Point is there are mosques in northern ireland, although as i pointed out earlier we dont have as much of a problem because we're still banging on about the troubles.

Always thought is would have a field day over here, just walk around planting bombs left right and centre and nobody would ever suspect it was related to islam.

That is Wellington street, They use an old victorian house as a mosque but want a brand new one built for like 400 people but are not getting it. They basically have to pray in the kitchen and stairways. It could be worse, They could have the Saudi, Sorry Northern Ireland religious police making sure no illegal qurans or artifacts are there.

Northern ireland still does not have a purpose built mosque i believe still one of the only places in Europe not to let them build one. An Islamic center or a converted house is not really your average Mosque imo.

Obvious reasons right now is you can't protect yourself the police can't protect you as you can see on the news :(

Like I said before it would take training to be able to carry.

It's just such a bad idea; you'd open up the streets for people carrying guns. It would turn into America with the amount of gun crime that this would cause.

Even our police don't carry guns (the majority of them).

These are people who we do not know, there is no identifying them. One says he is Bill Murray, and? They don't have passports or legal ID, some of them have nothing. Bill, Jim, Batman, a name or identity, a name, you simply can't know what is in someone's head in these situations. You can take a picture, get a name but you'll have no idea if it's real or not.

Also that isn't what people are suggesting, people are saying/implying they all need to be kept out completely.

Well no because over there pretty much anyone can own a gun, over here you've still got to jump through hoops to own one.

If I was a Muslim I would be ******** myself to be honest. The back lash will be horrendous from the far right and general public. :(

But you said it would turn out like America, the reality is concealed carry owners rarely cause an issue because getting a concealed carry requires paperwork. Over here, even obtaining the firearm in the first place requires much more checks.

Jesus, seriously, I'm saying look at Christianity. What does the bible say? Stone your neighbours, have slaves. People absolutely love to say to be Muslim is to follow the old ways in their bible. Yet you can make the exact same argument against Christianity and when people do they basically get laughed at because you don't have to follow the old bible to the letter to be Christian.

In fact despite what it says in the bible the majority of the world doesn't consider it gospel, almost no one on earth follows what is actually said in the bible, but we hold Muslim's to a different standard and suggest the idea that a good muslim treats women like crap, want a holy war, etc, etc.

I know(or presumed anyway) you were saying it in jest, I was more saying it because SO many people bring up the point not in jest.

But in the streets right now only the terrorist and criminals have the firearms and the law abiding public have nothing.

As sad as this is, it's probably true. If you invite thousands of refugees from Syria in, the chances are some of them (not many, granted) will be terrorists, masquerading as refugees.

Once within the borders of wherever they are going, there is a risk to the people that live there.

The only safe option is not to allow any refugees in at all, even then I think things like this will still happen.
